Super-generic War/Monster movie that has absolutely nothing original to put on the plate. It's neither thrilling, nor do you care about the character. There are no great action scene, creative kills, imaginative gore, surprises, stand out performances. It's not scary either. It's not even so bad or cringey that its hilarious. It's just bland as f and mostly boring while taking itself way to serious. The script is not only predictable and messy. Most of the scenes don't serve any purpose at all. Why does Boyce end up alone after the crash just to be reunited with his mates right away without any obstacles? Why the scene where the Sergeant is shot? The mine? All this stuff never comes up again. Why the need to rescue the boy when they have to infiltrate the church tower anyway? What's with the aunt? I could go on and on...
Boring, unoriginal amateur-style movie on an Abrams budget that relies way to heavy on it's premise with no idea what do do with it.
