Curb is so good at casting 1-ep guest star unknowns, disney princess, country club waitress in the last episode, Georgia hotel bellboy in ep2
very difficult topic to cover but cecilia vega's done a good job imo of covering the border/migration issue throughout her stories. definitely a big issue of how to absorb the influx of migrants and fund all the costs associated w/ it even if they don't end up getting residency but some of the tactics used to deter seem simultaneously heavy-handed and ultimately ineffective
"You can't keep calling in bomb threats to get out of things, this isn't school anymore!"
"Whats the use of doing the right thing if you don't get rewarded for it?! It's bullshit!"
"You got cucked so hard you turned into a cat. It's a tale as old as time"
i know it's the point of her character but tracey ullmans character is SOOOO annoying
was completely unprepared for a nathan fielder cock shot
one of the best group of contestants in a while, meshed so well together
what an insanely good episode
was indifferent to troy on his first 2 appearances on the show but really liked him as the DC doctor, solid delivery of all his lines
buuuut the writing overall just isn't enough to keep watching beyond Jon's weekly episodes
mike kosta struggles w/ the teleprompter from time to time but i do love his dgaf attitude when his jokes bomb
I relate to the brother character the most as i would be too short too scrawny and too chicken to be of any use in an emergency situation, better off just putting me in a steel box until it all blows over
Cragel :joy::joy::joy: and the day after I read about crookies (croissant + cookie)
I really like Desi Lydic as a correspondent buuut i don't like her as a host. Likeable but lacking screen presence and she's waaay too deferential and flattering in interviews (the Danai Gurira interview from 2 episodes prior especially) she could NEVER do the more substantive interviews w/ scholars/academics/journalists that Jon does on Mondays (granted so couldn't most the other correspondents) and thread the comedy-thoughtful/serious needle that Jon does well
as i grow older i increasingly relate to what if/lost loves/unrequited/missed connections romantic dramas and i don't like these feels one bit
only complaint is the captions were small and white which made it SO difficult to read 30% of the time
lol why does this have a trakt entry
"You cold-heated COVID-carrying cocksucker!"
"That dirty floor fucker does not deserve to live among us"
I could spend hours watching clean mounts in the Indian Relay
"Oh dear, it's a dog" followed by Malala immediately turning around and walking the opposite direction as the crew try to block her off from the dog is too cute
wait that was Marshawn Lynch?!?
And meeting someone new? Ugh. All the nodding and smiling and sibling listing. And what's the upside? It works and you have to have a bunch of sex?
Lemon, what DO you want? Do you want to be alone for the rest of your life?
No, I just wish I could start a relationship about 12 years in, when you really don't have to try anymore and you can just sit around together and goof on TV shows, and then go to bed without anybody trying any funny business.
she's literally me :sob:
Everyone Else: Thoughtful Film Discourse
Me: Paul Mescal licking Andrew Scott's spunk off his chest > Barry Keoghan drinking Jacob Elordi's bathwater
it's nice to see Jon having fun at the desk and all his old idiosyncrasies and mannerisms when hosting TDS after his last year at the desk just felt like he was going through the motions
You choose to sit on the sidelines because you're afraid.
Because your pride makes your head explode before it can come up with a little germ of an idea.
And now you wake up and you're 40 and you need someone to blame and you're the one to blame.
You're petrified by your own fucking standards and your fear of failure.
This is the truth.
You're smart. I know you know I'm right.
I SEE TOO MUCH OF MYSELF IN THIS AND I DON'T LIKE IT ONE BIT
jordan klepper lamenting about his hairline is 2real4me
out of everything, them texting with punctuation and capital letters is really throwing off my suspension of disbelief
really though Lana was goner there for a second though
was initially okay with it but now I really don't like Jodie's acting here, feels too forced especially during the ASK THE QUESTION scene w/ Peter. the whole ASK THE QUESTION bit has felt increasingly super-scripted and artificial throughout the season
and that end credits music :skull:
Wasn't expecting to see King Kong try to force Godzilla to deepthroat a tree but here we are
all the domestic sht w/ her parents is so annoying and just comes off as a distraction from the main plot
