Starting to think none of the people in these comments really enjoy Doctor Who as something fun to watch. Couldn't be me! Ncuti is kicking it out the damn park
This was a lot of fun and felt fresh through and through. For me, the 2+ hours passed by like nothing. I enjoyed most of the dialogues, of course the camera work, the soundtrack and the overall vibe. The final 10-15 minutes made me smile nonstop, this was just really good cinema. I personally also loved the ending shot. Left the theatre with a big grin and a good feeling.
Almost veers into teen drama early in the season but picks up by episode 5. It’s a great iteration on the OG Orphan Black series. I hope there’s more to come.
The idea was really interesting, but then they just had to add some weird plot points and ideas into it. It kind of lessened everything else.
Americans saying that "original" was better than this one. Little do they know that "Alive" wasn't the first film about this accident. Actually, a mexican movie released in 1976 was the first one ever made and it wasn't bad at all.
Yes, this version is slow paced and with less action than previous movies, specially the american one, but technically and emotionally is way above the first two movies. J. A. Bayona goes deeper in the emotional part of each character, this time, using the real names of the survivors, besides, it was filmed in part in the same spot where the accident took place. Hey, we even have cameos of some of the survivors.
Sorry, but people saying this "remake" is bad, is just lazy people that don't like to read subtitles. This movie will be nominated for an Oscar, I can tell you that.
Let me hijack my own comment to update it after all is said and done.
This has been one fantastic show that I would wholeheartedly recommend to anyone that can "stomach" an american sitcom. Over those 6 seasons you will learn to love the characters on this show and miss them dearly when it's all over! But fear not, it has a bitter-sweet end and the show is not ripped out of existence like many other shows. 9/10, would shop there again!
Oh god, seems the show won the renewal bingo....
"NBC has renewed @AmericaFerrera's #Superstore for Season 2" :D
Fantastic thriller. For those who like to be spoon fed mind-numbing high-octane violence, action, explosions etc, this isn't for you. For the rest of us, welcome to the wonderful world of acting and drama. The accents are, mostly, genuine or very well done. The Northern Irish accent can be difficult to follow if you're not used to hearing it. Good to see a show set in Northern Ireland in which the troubles are not a major concern.
Does Gillian Anderson age backwards? She's stunning.
This may be a minority opinion but I found this series badly written with a poorly constructed, underlying reality. The story unfolds in a format similar to 13 REASONS where each episode is one girl’s backstory. The plot is plodding. The “research project” is extremely unconvincing. The continuity is fractured. Basically, you not only have to suspend disbelief, but you also have to ignore any understanding of physical reality. I have no intention of watching them [spoiler] repeat this process with their male counterparts [\spoiler] in a second season. I began watching with a willingness to give it a chance but ended up regretting the wasted time. I give the series a 4 (poor) out of 10 [Young Adult Drama]
Great season for the first half. Definitely better than the first. Sean Bean is great. But after episode 6 (best episode of the whole show) things just kinda felt meh. We knew that we had to get to the point with the trains brakes burning up and Alex at the window as they passed Melanie. If the next episode had gotten us to that point, then that would have been fine. Hell, that scene would have probably made for a great ending of the season. But instead we spent almost 4 full episodes getting to that event that we already knew was going to happen. This hurt the season a lot.
Will be interesting to see how they handle season 3. I really hope we get less of Josie and the Icy Bob type stuff. That was easily the weakest point of this season. I really don't care for the whacko super unrealistic science stuff.
Riveting documentary. As others have commented, the Daily Mail journalist/asshole was responsible for spreading salacious rumours about the Amanda Knox case. The Italian police were clearly quick to make convictions and the court followed suit, despite flimsy evidence against Knox. Is she guilty? I don't think so. The police, media and the public are often quick to make assumptions.
The film succeeds in painting a pretty balanced view of events by interviewing a number of people involved in the case. The viewer can only decide for themselves on the guilt/innocence of Knox.
That Daily Mail "journalist" is utterly despicable and somehow wilfully ignorant of his role. Solid documentary.
