They should have made it a sequel to M3gan and called this 4bigail
What an absolute 10/10 mid-00's soundtrack, just banger after banger
It kind of felt like an amalgamation of a lot of the biggest hits from the last 5 years, I saw some Avengers in the writing, Spider-Verse obviously influenced the animation and I'm very into it, the 90's soundtrack is very trendy. Overall it was a pretty enjoyable experience, if a bit unoriginal
This really snuck up on me. At first I thought it was going to be just another movie about a group of girl friends partying on vacation, but the drunk acting was really fantastic, and the lead especially gave so much with the slightest expression. I really hated her one friend, but I liked Em and I thought both girls were great actors. I got really anxious as her night progressed, and as hard as it was to watch, I thought I was going to get through this movie without any tears. But then the end at the airport happened, and my heart just broke for this girl who just wanted to lose her virginity and have a good time with her friends. I haven't cried like I did at the end of this movie in a long time, I have a lot of my own healing to do, and this movie was a bit of a sneaky gut punch. Hoping to see Mia McKenna-Bruce in a lot more to come
all of the text in my copy was in German, so that made me chuckle every time I saw it. The guy who's supposed to be the 'safe' love interest looks old enough to be Abby's dad. This garbage was horrible lol
Ok I actually finished it and Virginia Gardner carried this entire film on her back, she was doing The Most and I applaud her for it. The Sprouse boy was terrible lmao
This movie is insane and terrible and I think I need to watch it every day. I was laughing from the very first second. The fist indicator that this film was being phoned in by literally everybody was when the opening titles was just white text on a black screen. No one bothered to make even a 5 second opening title sequence. It's then immediately followed by an opening scene with some of the clunkiest dialogue I've ever heard, combined with the most laughable zooms in the editing. It's truly a bizarre thing to see.
Dakota Johnson is giving an absolute max of 80% at any given moment, and has a few line deliveries that had me dying laughing, both intentionally and unintentionally. Everything to do with the villain and his assistant from Girls is pure insanity, from "de-aging" the girls 10 years by simply removing their masks in the picture, to all the ADR, it's all confounding. Adam Scott is certainly there, saying his lines, along with Emma Roberts. Neither of them have much of an impact on the story except to tangentially connect Cassie to an infant, alternate universe version of a character we already know, but they sure are there and saying things.
TL:DR This movie makes every wrong choice and I want to spend the rest of my life trying to understand it
I liked Patrick Wilson more in this one than the first, but he absolutely limped through that Necrus monologue lmao
Could have used more Mera #JusticeforAmberHeard
As a movie about a rafting trip gone wrong, I thought it was fine. As a remake of the 1994 Meryl Streep film, I thought it was terrible.
It's like if someone who had never seen The Challenge before had another person describe the show to them, and then was asked to make a parody version of it. It's ridiculous and perfect nonsense to watch when there's nothing else on.
I think this worked a lot better as a play
Way more gross than it is scary. The practical effects are obviously great, but this is not a movie for me.
Every 45 minutes or so, one character will tell another character everything that's going on in the movie up to that point, in case anyone's gotten lost lol
Teen girl with rage issues takes down a bunch of home invaders with school supplies and Home Alone hijinks. I think Becky definitely has some underlying issues given how, ahem, creative, she got with some of the kills. A girl who slowly kills a man with a boat motor is someone who has definitely thought about killing before.
Also, so many men in these comments severely underestimate the rage of a teenage girl, she is capable of literally anything
The CGI tentacles in the beginning were pretty laughable, even considering it was 2007. Marcia Gay Harden is doing top tier work as the religious zealot, and Thomas Jane is great as the hero, it's a shame he didn't have a more prolific acting career.
The pacing is not great, it really drags in the beginning and I was starting to get a little bored by halfway through. Thankfully it picks up a lot in the second half. I also try to cut the characters in horror movies some slack when it comes to making quick decisions, but the way people just freeze and couldn't close the door when poor Norm got taken by the tentacles, PLUS, when Thomas Jane yells "they're attracted to the light! Turn out the lights!" those same guys who froze start running around turning ON all the lights! Idiots!
And after all that, what a devastating ending for Thomas Jane, OOF
Very solid season. I love that Harley and Ivy's respective jobs didn't cause unnecessary conflict in their relationship, and the ending where Ivy tells Harley she's not good or bad, she's basically outside of that binary, was great. Can't wait for season 5!
My high school English teacher showed this in class and I've had a soft spot for it ever since. I really love Claire Danes, and I honestly think this is one of Leonardo DiCaprio's best performances
Annie Murphy, Jane Fonda, and Toni Collette made this bearable, I thought Ruby was a fairly bland protagonist. The animation was amazing, though, it almost makes me wish I had seen it in theaters.
Sophie Turner gives one of the finest performances from a barely there supporting role that I've seen in years. This film is amazing.
Mid Life Crisis: The Movie
If you watch it, you'll be bored
I wish they had found some of the women involved with the howard stern show to interview
I felt like this movie would never end
Mel Bracewell won this episode and my heart
this is in the running for worst movie I've ever seen
It's a little long for the story it's telling, and I'm kinda tired of the "girl pressuring her closeted gf to come out because she thinks she's ashamed of her" plot, but the two leads have great chemistry, and Cannon is especially good in the more emotional scenes.
The bisexual lighting alone gets this up to a 7, the rest bumps it up to a 9
I never had a Blackberry, but I vividly remember playing with my sister's Blackberry Storm and Curve, and that WAS a satisfying click! This was a very good movie with really great performances from Howerton and Baruchel.
The Blair Witch Project really had a stranglehold on pop culture at the time huh lol
I could watch Betty Gilpin do crazy shit like this all day
I think you'll like this film if you like and have a good grasp of The Odyssey, but if you don't know anything about The Odyssey and go in blind, I feel like you're just going to leave mostly confused but still bopping to a killer soundtrack
I understand it's an iconic theme song, but after an hour I'm really sick of it
