The single most sublime hour of televisual entertainment ever committed to film.
Not too bad but the final episode descended into high-school theatre-level production and writing, as the subtext was made explicit in a series of odd montages. A more subtle touch may have made this a stronger ending. Joe Mantello carried it, however. He and Russel Tovey gave great performances throughout.
YOU KNOW THE MOVIE IS GOOD WHEN THERE IS A NAKED WHIP FIGHT SCENE.
The best kind of weirdness - understated - with a grounded emotional core and a central mystery, Debris sustains intrigue. The leads are as shattered as the objects they investigate but fit together in surprising ways. They're no Mulder and Scully however, but the beautiful cinematography and altered spins on the tropes found in similar fare like Threshold and The Lost Room make it a compelling watch. We can only hope the sums of its parts come together to form a greater whole.
