Still trying to like the show. This episode was better than the last, but there are still character behaviors that don't make sense, like why would the French captain leave her walkie talkie in the car during an active pursuit, or why she'll just fling around with her gun when the officer warned her, getting herself shot, etc. . It's a bit frustrating, as I was hoping for an intelligent spy thriller, but it's turning out to be an action thriller.
The Arabic accents were better this episode, with the proper Levant accents.
I really want to like this show, as I was a fan of the Harrison Ford movies, but it's getting difficult.
On a side note, as an Arabic speaker, the Arabic dialog is really painful. I ended up muting the volume and just reading the captions. The wrong accents are one thing (imagine a cowboy in a Western speaking with a heavy Scottish brogue. It's that distinct), but the dialog was clearly written in English and translated literally into Arabic. Words and phrasings were said that made no sense in Arabic, only in the English captions.
There are almost 4 million Arabs in America... can we get a couple in the writer's room for a show with so many Arabs in it?
Ok, rant over.
It was ok. The character design was good, though it reminded me of the fish monster character from Hellboy.
The love story part was meh for me. I didn't really understand the basis of the attraction.
Michael Shannon was the best part as the bad guy. He's great in everything he does.
I'm frankly stunned by how good this season has been!
Just watched it with my son for the first time in ages. It really holds up.
Movie was pretty bad, and the plot didn't make any sense!
We're slowly making our way to a cohesive plot, and I'm enjoying the ride!
I really loved the scene between Ed Harris and Anthony Hopkins. Ed Harris really stole the scene here. I can't remember if these two have ever been on-screen together. It's amazing that this finally happened on TV, and not in any movies.
The orgy scene was a bit weird. It's interesting that this far out from the main town, the hosts can punch and choke the guests, though I'm sure they still can't kill them. I wonder if the hosts are able to kill the guests in the furthest areas (a.k.a. final boss round)
I really liked that they winded down the big fight in the first third of the episode, and used the rest to set up the next season. No cliffhangers, which is a really nice change.
I also like that after 4 Marvel seasons on Netflix, Rosario Dawson finally has a love interest.
Alfre Woodard is going to make a great bad guy next season, potentially on par with Fisk on Daredevil.
Still not sure about Shades though, it's hard to take him seriously. "Look at you! Way to go! Right on!"... He's a bit too much of an evil cheerleader.
The writing for this episode was kind of bad. I'm close to being done with this show.
The show is hilarious, and there are some surprisingly deep themes going on here.
Been waiting since he showed up for Whatchu talkin' bout, Willis?
Here's where the show is starting to grab me. Great episode, and great ending!
Frank Whaley broke her concentration. Nice Pulp Fiction reference.
So much Kiefer whispering, even when other people are yelling at him. Awaiting Kiefer yelling.
Meh start, but it could get better. I'll give it a few more episodes to grab me.
Beginning of the season, and everything is different, everyone's in different places, different relationships, emotions, etc.
There was some weird sexualization of Daisy right at the beginning of the episode, where they haven't really done that before. I hope that's not the start of a trend.
Not much happening here, just establishing the new situation, and introducing a couple new characters.
Saw the season poster, and kept waiting for Nicolas Cage to show up.
As a fan of the Lonely Island and all of the SNL Digital Shorts they did, this was exactly what I wanted from this movie.
The cameos were crazy.
