Thumbs up for bringing in the non-binary topic to the mainstream (although they won't understand - they only know "trans"). Haters gonna hate....
But the forced combining of this and explanation to the "Doctor Powers" and "Story Solution" and dialogues are brain dead bad and the worst I have ever seen from , now returning, Russel T. Davies. You could do better. The Rest of the Plot is uninteresting and has a boring plot twist. Surprise: The cute looking pet hasn't always to be the nice guy - what a shocker (not) ! And it's illogical that the damage to the city is undone after the start of the spaceship is stopped - there is no time travel involved! so why fixing the streets? It's lazy writing, not wanting to deal with consequences of actions that happened.
Acting and directing very good, though.
Just 1 example, because I'm lazy at writing, too. lol
Instead of Discovery launching the probe to the rift, they boarded the probe on a shuttle and launched(!) it from there anyway. So no reason to fly so close to the rift for anyone anyway. The whole reason that this filler episode dilemma (following plot) even could exist
Yeah, I buy it!.
The whole series is so lazy at connecting storylines believable and dialogs are underwhelming and stupid - focusing on fancy eyecatchers.
I get it, as good SciFi-writer I would also prefer working for "The Expanse".
...including some lies and overreacting. the few facts are abused to make it appear this "opinion" or better "limited point of view" is the only solution.
No Question most people eat to big, unhealthy and to much meat.
But are animal-eating animals unhealthier than plant-eating animals? Are they extinct? No! It has more to do with exercise.
"Casein is addicting" No! All things you do (eat, move, learn, toilette...) trigger the same reward system in the brain for a reason.
An Egg containing all nutrients to create a new life - in their opinion egg yellow kills you. lol
It's 2017 and they still think cholesterol from food is harmful for the body.
What about insects animal protein? Why became the dominant species on this planet an everything eater?
... and so on.
propaganda movie which could have been perfected with a narrator voice of Putin or Erdogan. The same kind of movie could have been made for "only eat meat, plants will kill you"
learning sustainable nutrition not with this "documentary". you might want to go vegan for reasons, but not for this.
random constructed logic - means: not explaining story changes plausible, non existing puzzles, all random
continuing the obvious predictable path of the season e.g. the witness is the enemy lie
fast character changes (e.g. the witness) implausible, but the writers say so, so you forced to believe that, do not think for your own
Again shooting/killing presented as only solution for problems (season final so give it action and a big bang shit...)
and that said, the witness in the middle of the room shooting in titan is a tactical bad situation being surrounded by many guards, and even if you accept that series logic, the only person to end the series (Olivia) escapes, not getting hit, and the others standing in their way, not even try to stop her - no way, but the writers say so, so you have to buy it, you are not allowed to think, just give them your money
Prisoner/Olivia escape, again!, on the most stupid way.
And to top that a stupid math formula, which never ever in no universe, not with time travel, no matter what yet to explore and invent will be possible! Math/Science doesn't work that way! Not possible to combine an integral of whatever with Geographical coordinates in an formula. Stupid! Lazy "Explanation" of the writers: coordinates of titan through time prediction. Just Stupid! Titan leaves big wholes in the earth, the easiest way to track it and possible with time machine travel.
Did they logical explain why the Pallid Man was alive again in this season???
back story of the witness. just a side story for the next final episode. best episode of the season, still not done very good. have seen better on such kind of story. still meaningless distraction, clear after(!) next episode
makes no sense they trust Olivia more than Jennifer Goines.
Suddenly travel back to the same time event again and again by the witness is allowed, because the writers say so. Stupid!
No explanation, why "traveling back in time saving his girlfriend not resulting in: not having the need to traveling back in time to save his girlfriend in first place"-Paradox (the paradox conflicting with his own timeline) takes not place. But it's logic, because the writers say so! Lazy writing and stupid!
predictable. stupid. in the end no meaning for the story. time travel with dead end. dead person, giving no useful information. 1 episode just to reveal the actor of the mature witness in the last minute in a very misplaced way. boring.
makes no sense.
1. Why not: time travel/resetting time, till the assault on the house is lucky, the other side does this the whole time. writers should finally decide to stay at one of their stupid "series logic".
2. again, "good guys" only thinking of killing. Normally, no betray, not saving the son by their parents - but also no killing mission, just capture their son, saving him from the guardians and travel back all together and try to find out if he is really bad. The striking women they believe blindly, but not the witness/son!? Stupid!
Do they ever explain how people of that time believe in a cult of time travel and "all time at once". Such suggestible people of that time would be so stupid, to exactly not to believe in time travel or science stuff, or not? Why did they come there in the first place?
They just present a child that can not fly or heal anything or anything special. And a bit big effort, to take 1 person and kill the rest. Also why exactly has the child to kill the others? Can't the guardians do the dirty work. They all dead anyway, doesn't matter. Sure impresses the audience, elsewise the happening is not logical.
Cole mine explosion and Christopher Lloyd appearance meaningless. More artificial dramatic than reasonable.
The showrunners/writers must be some right-wings conservatives of the NRA marketing team. The only solution this series presents again and again, Killing the person is the solution, the only thing changes, which person. Again Ramse lies (not crazy about his again dead son this time, but still crazy and not to let him time travel...), first all believe them and of course ends in killing him. Killing innocent person, no real consequences.
Hey writers, give a shit about mature behavior!? Ramse can't talk to the others finding a solution together??? Ever thought of a story using time travel for problem solution without just killing in the end. The others are stupid, they all know something, if they would have shared information, they easily have could solved the problem.
Dear writers, I just saw the best before date of my milk in the fridge is in the past, I have to go now, and shoot the milk before it kills me with bacteria. That's the only solution! Believe me! Just ignore it destroys the time and the whole universe. And time travel and drink it before it's to late, no that doesn't work. - - - But of course.... you already know that the witness is fake problem, that's why you don't care to throw this shit stories at your audience.
both story arcs are terrible. The striking women alive and untrustable, still they believe her. Torture without doubt. Suddenly endless energy for the time machine therefore. Obviously getting only lies, still believe her. She tells them that she was that child in the cell by that doctor. But using the time machine saving her, solving all problems, finally ending the series - No! It's needed that she is crazy and the bad girl, because the witness as enemy is only a distraction. obious. lazy writing, again.
deacon arc worst copy and worst acting of this kind of story - noone gives a shit about his dad and why he has become this deacon version, has no meaning for the small influence he has on the story change. And the rest just happens for the not suprising truth in the season final. It is really bad writing if the audience could know the whole time to which end it goes. The guardians and the witness meaningless in the end.
The "bad guys" travel trough time all the time fixing their mistakes/resetting time, but same time the "good guys" aren't allowed - lazy writers.
The season would normally end here only if killing their son would be the solution. So it's obvious the writers know and telling you, that it is not and in fact a meaningless story arc. So no real danger here, doesn't matter what the main characters do or not do, season final is ever way inescapable.
Braindead. So basically they had an overall predictable story for only 2 episodes and stretch it to 1 season on the most nonlogical way you can imagine. They break there own time travel rules how they like so often, but especially at the important moments they tell the audience. "you can't do it with time travel, because the season must go on".
But that happens when linear thinking writers trying to write a time travel story, there time travel is in fact meaningless for the main story. Time travel is used here to stretch the season on a boring way and for special effects on a second thought..
Lazy Writing.
The whole series detecting time anomalies goes on the fly, but for titan you need to travel to time an set 1000s of markers!? Stupid!
Then Titan travels through time it leaves a giant whole in the earth you see from space, but you can't find it although you have a time machine to travel to the right moment before it vanishes. Stupid!
Titan traveled so often through time the earth would be soaked by wholes by time, nobody filled them. Still can't find Titian!? Stupid!
The "bad guys" travel through time the whole time to warn themselves and fix their mistakes (reset time). But the writers think the whole audience is so naive, as they tell them the "good guys" can't do the same to solve their problem, because suddenly that will destroy time. rotfl. Stupid!
Time travel stories try to solve a problem by finding the right time and place to fix it. Still the writers thinking like a right-wing conservative US-Citizien: again and again in the season their ONLY solution for a problem is Shooting and killing it! Stupid as hell.
Meaningless, pseudo-intelligent dialogs (not part of the solution of the story, just to explain for the "slow people" what happened or distract from what really happens) . And the writers tell you all main characters are stupid, but for no reason are still alive...as ramse tricks them, again.... as the striking women tricks them, again - that's no surprise for thinking people and destroys any connecting for any character of the show you might have had.
The rare creative story aspects of Miss Goines feels misplaced and are just there to make people believe they would have a bigger meaning for the story.
They completely dismissed the story arc that time travel kills and time paradoxes are harmless now, even more no injections, absolutely everybody time travels know, unguarded. And even with time travel clothes the big machine co-exists. They explain nothing at places they have to, so it becomes unbelievable at times.
I know as always, and no matter how bad something becomes, there are people liking it with the highest rating. That's sad, but so have most people become. Easily overwhelmable and manipulable. Reminds me on Hypnotoad from Futurama. The best episode ever: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tk7PMSzY00U
The problem of the last 2 seasons already, the stupidity of the storytelling. High Security Lab on Lockdown with ventilation system to the outside world - really!!? - the opposite would be case in such a lab, a real lockdown and a burning system already integrated. This mistake was already done in the past on a Christmas special with the master and a radiation venting system on the last episode with David Tennant. This is in no case excusable. And this terrible keypart of an episode solution combined with an overall terrible constructed story, again. All my every-days dreams are more creative. My own thoughts about the story while watching are better than the real story in the end. Although the alien design is quite good.
I don't know what is worse:
1. having polluted my brain with this shit
2. seeing some people blindly still rating recent episodes high - no matter what or how bad it becomes
3. cocaine addicted writers having no doubt delivering such rubbish
4. imagine the writers really getting paid for that, no matter what they do
From a meta point of view, this episode is on the same great level like the others from this season. Yet as soon as religion is criticized and questioned in general, there are some people trying to seperate this episodes quality from the others - It's a look into the mirror. Putting religion in question and combining it with more modern version of cult (casting shows) is on point - bringing up a separation from intelligence and religion/casting shows may be to soon for some humans, but in long term is needed for humanity to leave childhood.
the answer for all is "42", but the solution for all are "additional steps"!
getting an award for "Worst Special Effects Explosion in an A-Series-Premiere" isn't a great start for this episode. looks like there was no time to finish this effect. but the episode isn't bad at all.
New Season 2017 - Code Geass: Lelouch of the Revival R3
Gintama is kind of the japanese version of "The Simpsons", but is not "The Simpsons", the characters aren't yellow, and the humor is very special, maybe too special for most people outside of japan.
(The german synchro was great, but unlike watching with original jp audio and fan subs, most jokes I didn't understand)
If you like cliches, simplified characters, problems and solutions, then this episode reaches a new climax for you. The music in the "episode solution"-part is boldly stolen from "Doctor Who"', I wondered, but of course cannot compare to his stories. If you can't concentrate longer than 5 minutes you even won't notice anything bad, no stereotypes, and not even the always repeating same stories parts since the series started - all would be logical for you - - - if your life is not endless, try to watch the good things first.
Very good film. Yet even by considering the different thinking of people at that time, compared to todays people, the movie has some flaws: The ending is good, yet a bit rushed, but with only the ring of the murder's wife, who also was illegally taken, so no evidence, the murder has nothing to fear. That said, no clue why the murder in the end attacks Jeff in his own home, and after that even tells the corpse place(s). He has nothing to loose (and if he would be such a nice person, nether done these things in first place).
Further more:
Lisa enters through the window, but cannot get off through the window!!?
And a human with only 1 brain cell, would close his eyes after the FIRST flash of light. (Is this a metaphor for a murder is no human???)
What can I do to get this show canceled and proper redone!? - running naked through the internet???
Not disappointed! A real scifi show, not seen in years, unexpected to come from the (current) syfy channel. But to be fair, it's based on a book series.
The style & CGI reminds me on "BSG (2003)", but "The Expanse" is something new and different. Starts a bit slow, but delivers a deep complex and atmospheric story. Very, very, very good and unknown actors, what a viewer won't notice from the start.
The superb screenwriting alone tells a story, but not alone creates this milestone.
The cool thing is, it changes the genre and setting a bit during the 1 season. So not just the story alone changes things and makes it interesting. - Spoiler! - As viewer you may first think it's Pre-"Aldnoah.Zero"+Belters (boring...), but through new completely different plot-lines changes to be more mystery and horror.
Thanks! That I did not skipped this show!
In 1975 the time-pace-ship wants keep undetected, that's why it cloaks AFTER landing - believable.
Also just another show in which it seems in every episode the villian catches the stupid heroes, but doesn't kill them, rather just talks and talks and talks...until the heroes get suprisingly rescued. Repeat in next episode. Just to keep the show running, but it doesn't get better.
The plothole list is endless, writing and acting is terrible. This show is just time waste.
oh, how dramatic...fighting for survival, crawling and rather eating raw meat. But in background more than one campfire, and cooked meat would give the body more calories. Also near death cannot move & cannot do anything about the killing of the other guy and attemped murder on himself in the beginning, later as he is alone no problem with walking and such stuff. The movie is trying too hard to impress the audience instead of being realistic dramatically.
So many things are already wrong with this show and now this! lol
Just for a headstart: Writing a scene for normal humans but forgetting about Matt Parkmans abilities...results in giving Matt a gun in a hostage situation, but then let him mindcontrol the clones, killing themselves with their own guns. What? Should a gun make the audience more thrilled?
Have I missed something? Thought the last writers strike was finished.
If the writers don't know their characters, maybe it's time for them to think about a occupational change. I'm sure their are many talented jobless writers out there for replacement.
Worst season since the reboot! U can easily skip it... No, u should to not thinking bad about...thinking bad about D*****... about Who?
Once in a time "Doctor Who" was good. But this is generic shit.
Although nearly nothing happens, 24 min flew ayway. Seems like they put the whole money & time of the season in the animations of this last episode. Very well executed.
Best ending for a tv show (next to Code Geass) I have ever seen!
