Sony Pictures making a Spider-Man....again
In the 90's, Sony Pictures get the opportunity to buy all Marvel Comics' Live Action movies rights, but they choose only the rights of the most popular IP, Spider-Man, and associated ones.
Guess what happen...yup. Valiant offers Sony Pictures all rights of Valiant Comics (since 2012 reboot). And Sony Pictures plans with Valiant a 4 movies "Harbinger Wars" project.
Yup, Sony thinks better after watch they 2019 box office earnings and discard the Valiant Cinematic Universe.
And why you think they keep Bloodshot rights? (you must thinking right now). Vin Diesel, literally.
But, The VCU (lol) stills going on Paramount Pictures, without Bloodshot. That's like you want to make a DC Filmic Universe without use Batman rights.
But then, what happens...they announced the movie as a R-Rated (and that's a good move, 'cause the Valiant relaunched universe was everything but family friendly). But guess, what happens now...they want more money. So, retire the digital blood and cover some parts in shots. Vin Diesel will sell himself the movie.
And with that in mind, show I score the movie:
Normally it will be a 6.5/10. considering the plot arc, how it's development and the action.
But we talk about Sony Pictures, discating a entire Cinematic Universe for they selfs...again.
So that makes it a 5/10.
