the movie can not decide what it want to be:
A romantic movie with nice shots of venice or a interesting, crime-like storyline with a big thread.
But the end is not bad. Also the actors try to give their best.
In the end: Not bad, but definitly a movie 'for the right mood'.

The marketing and trailer of the film suggested a horror movie with a creepy monster. That may well be the case, but this is not a conventional horror film at all - there is far, far more to this outstanding film than that. To say more would give away the plot, but clear hints as to the identity of the “Babadook” and how it fits into the narrative ensure the reveal and resolution are unsurprising. That, though, misses the point - here the journey the audience is taken on is so compelling that the reveal and resolution to the story don’t need to surprise. Essie Davies plays a single mother still coming to terms with the death of her husband and the young Noah Wiseman is her son who is exhibiting behavioural issues. They both give outstanding natural performances and the film is rooted in such verisimilitude that the introduction of the horror element almost feels intrusive. Not that this is unsuccessful either - the “monster’ initially lurks in the shadows, creating a palpable sense of foreboding and dread and the sound design of the film helps to emphasise this, creating some wonderfully creepy moments. Fortunately, rather than worrying about horror conventions and gimmicks to scare, the filmmakers explore far more gripping issues and concerns - that of a mother’s struggle to raise a child on her own and cope with unresolved grief, loss, isolation and helplessness. If there was a minor criticism, it is that the final act occasionally focuses more on the conventions of horror and suspense that had been so carefully balanced throughout. But this is a nitpick at best and doesn’t detract from one of the finest films of the year and a strong message that true horror is as firmly rooted in reality as it is in the supernatural and fantasy.
A decent look at what the party was. It's definitely tilted a bit in favor of the Panthers, though. They don't talk about how the party was communist from the beginning, and if you don't know that, you assume that the initial armament of the party members was simply an exercise of rights and not the beginnings of a government overthrow. Huey Newman was an active marxist before the party, as were many of the early members, and this doomed the party to surveillance by the government, as this was the policy at the time for active marxist organizations advocating government overthrow.
One of the best shows around. Great acting, good story lines, ... A pity nobody was watching it.
I wish someone had warned me how overwhelmingly crushing this last episode is. So for you out there getting ready to watch this episode, BE AWARE. Find lots of tissues. Seriously, it's too strong, too impossible. I've never seen anything like this. They killed me. Seriously.

Decided to give this a try since a lot of people were calling it 'too gruesome to watch' and I got curious. It's honestly not tho. I really liked it, but if you're expecting some dark horror stuff like I did, this will dissapoint. I did however really like the plot and I definitely will continue watching this!
They'll just build a new one... and make the White Walkers pay for it.

This was another level of deus ex machina. What was bigger the battle or the plot holes?
A disappointment. It's not horrible, but it is far from having the quality GoT had in the early seasons. The writing is piss poor since the end of season 6 tbh. Most people seem to have liked it, even though it doesn't feel like game of thrones anymore. The writers have no guts, GoT shouldn't be about taking the easy way out. This was the most hyped battle in the show and managed to be the worst of them all in my opinion.
I'll be waiting for the books.
