Okay, so this probably isn't The Jungle Book you know and love, with dancing bears and comical monkeys. It is a darker version of the tale, and that's a good thing, because we don't need a carbon copy of the 2016 or 1967 adaptations of the tale. While younger children should be dissuaded from watching it - the jungle is a savage place - there is still a lot to enjoy for older kids and their parents. Oh, and was I the only one to realise this is the second time that somebody has shouted KHAAAAN to a Benedict Cumberbatch character?
Definitely went deep and emotional into the Forrest in this one and a great performance from the girls.. a good watch indeed..
It's Johnny English - he's back!! And your take on that will depend on what you thought of the other films in the series. There isn't anything new here, but... if it ain't broke, don't fix it. Atkinson still has what it takes, and his rubber faced buffoonery and slapstick shenanigans are still as funny as ever. Bravo Mr English, bravo!
This is not the Joker you know and erm...love... and yet it is the Joker you know and love, only shot through with a plausible origin story that makes sense of the character. Phoenix gives an astonishing turn here, at once sad and chilling, and the film as a whole is quite breathtaking in its stylistic choices. Not quite what I expected, and that's a good thing. There are still snapshots of the comic book universe but it does its own thing magnificently.
That was a deep film and I enjoyed it.. strong performance from all..
Great action, a fine sense of humour, and a rich emotional core at the centre of the film. This is DC's best movie yet, and is a heck of a lot of fun. There is a lot to recommend here, not only for superhero fans, but for anybody looking for a great night out at the cinema.
wow this film was something... right in the emotions at times... sound cast... a deep message that makes you think more about the lack of interest in this world and whats happening right now in front of us all...
So, is Hubie Halloween a trick or a treat? Surprisingly, it's the latter! I had a fun time watching this, despite the poor critical response. It's not the greatest comedy in the world, but when you put it alongside Sandler's other Netflix 'comedies,' this is a near classic!
Tim Curry is electric in this very silly but fun flick.
Harmless movie loses its way when it veers off the hiking trail.
The second time around made this film even darker, love the storyline and great performance from both young wood & culkin and definitely great chemistry between them both in their roles.
I’d of loved to see an alternative to this where wood plays culkins role, it would be interesting to see and I’d definitely think he’d pull it off, seeing him in some dark films like (maniac) that was terrible but shows he can play a dark role and probably could of pulled it off in his youth years.
Overall, it's a good movie, undermined only by a tinge of Hollywood melodrama. Lucas Hedges is a terrific actor, and he turns in excellent work here, and Roberts does too as the mum trying to save his life. Unlike another commenter on this page, I don't think this film is unrealistic. While it is a little cliched at times, it still paints a reasonably realistic portrait of drug addiction. I speak from experience as somebody who has tried to save and protect those who have struggled with the same. Worth a watch then, and a reminder for us not to judge those with addiction; most of us are fortunate not to have to walk in their broken shoes.
A deep and strong plot, all cast worked great together and were fantastic in their roles, over all decent film.
Loved the outdated effects, they have their own charm and give this film so many memorable moments. The second half picks up the pace eventually though the acting is often weak. A must see if you love your Greek Mythology.
Not has good as the first time around and nothing on the first film, just didn’t have same vibe and did feel draggy and not much happen.
Well I enjoyed that and didn’t expect that ending that added some humour to it.
Whilst England is Mine treats Smith’s fans with the Moz’s early influences, it lacks the depth of Morrissey’s character. Jack Lowden acts out a cuddly Morrissey persona that seems to belong in another film. Nethertheless, do watch this film to see it’s better moments in the second half.
I've always hated social media, and this film confirms my suspicions that its behind much of this world's evils! A good film, and while its not easy to love at times, I'm sure it won't become the subject of your next hate campaign.
I have never read Lovecraft's short story on which this film is based but I would like to, especially after seeing this film. It's visually stylish, suitably horrific, and very well done. Oh, and it's great to see Nicolas Cage in a recent film that isn't bottom of the barrel awful. Highly recommended, especially if you're a fan of the color purple (the color not the novel).
I think its a well made film, with strong performances from Wu and Lopez. That being said, its not my kind of film, so while I appreciate its merits, I wasn't drawn into the story. Others will appreciate it more than me.
Far-fetched for the most part, but the final line of dialogue perfectly resonates with society's messed up relationship with social media and the internet.
Reasonably enjoyable black comedy, but it misfires too many times to be considered a hit.
Great movie about the attempt to resurrect the Laurel and Hardy. Great performances by Coogan and John C Reilly. Recommended as it is played so well you become engulfed in the story, must watch for Laurel and Hardy fans.
Few cheesy parts but other than that this film that was across from big and superman vs lex was fucking brilliant with a super cast, full on humour, emotional at times and lots of fun action XD
Absolutely perfect in every way. Exceptional cast (although I scratched my head why they cast a Yankee to play a iconic London character but Lin-Manuel Miranda finally won me over). Emily Blunt was spectacular. Wonderful supporting cast with some very distinguished featured artists (the last one was a particular treat). The new music was complex but brilliantly written. The animation was a delight. The choreographed numbers were both an homage and lovely. There just didn't seem to be a false step. I give this film a 10 (perfect) out of 10. [Musical Family Fantasy]
This is Robin Hood for the new generation, with a superhero-alike origin story and a flashy visual style. Your enjoyment of the film will vary - purists may not like the films look or changes - but it has some appeal for modern audiences. Still, it missed the target with it's storytelling, and while a sequel is set up at the end, I doubt the filmmaker's will give this another go, particularly after the poor critical reception so far.
Bauman's hero status was thrust upon him because of a terrible tragedy, and his humanity in dealing with that situation is what drives this movie. It's an inspirational tale, to be sure, and the message is this: we can all be heroes, no matter how ordinary we think we are.
More action, more monsters, more laughs, a cool sound track and better than the other two XD
