Zero need for rainbow casting when one of the main points of Jordan's vision was how a common goal/enemy breaks down cultural barriers in the end. You need a highly polarized initial state for that to carry any weight (fleshed out in the books painstakingly, even pushed to extremes through darkfriend characters - a social commentary on its own - here: nullified right off the bat, sacrificing the potential for genuine progress).
Also, the fact that female wielders of the One Power (who took the oaths on a ter'angreal) should appear ageless is completely ignored, missing out on some key implications of the setting and it's real life basis (accepting the assumption that agelessness represents approx. 23 years of age).
Ageless faces, moreover: concepts, should not be sacrificed to the zeitgeist. Some things are inherent to the Pattern. :)
On the postive: to me, the feel and the overall visuals were there, the weaves and the Trollocs were decent, liked Lan a lot. Shadar Logoth and the Ways were cool. The Myrddraal as well - hell, even Thom Merrilin. :D Rosemund was a good choice overall and I think it works that she's the only/most well known face in the cast.
Solid 6/10, even 7 at times they let the fundamentals shine through. Those moments rekidled my love for Jordan and Sanderson, but things might be further off for those unfamiliar with the 14+1 book long original series.
