I'm not sure how I feel about Twin Peaks. I mean I watched it all in a couple of weeks and there were some really cool parts and ideas and there definitely were some bad parts, mainly the second half of the second season was super boring. I was always interested when something weird or supernatural was happening and not interested when it was just townie drama. I knew it was Lynch making this and I know how some of his movies work, so I was expecting everything to make sense or matter but there was still too much stuff I didn't care about.
I thought the third season was much better then the previous two seasons. That may be because it was newer or because it focused less on the Twin Peak's townies, I'm not sure. Maybe it was because it did more weird stuff but I wasn't a huge fan of the weirdest episode 8. The ending wasn't the strongest but I wasn't expecting Breaking Bad closure.
Overall after hearing so much about how amazing the show is and how fantastic season 3 is, I was disappointed. I think it is interesting and can be very good at points but it just is a little too boring and needs to be a little weirder. I'm glad I watched it but I'm not sure if I'll every revisit again. Maybe if the do a season 4 in another 25 years.
This is a great show. Its getting compared to Breaking Bad and while I think BrBa is a lot better they are really different shows. Ozark isn't trying to copy, it is doing its own thing. The show is very dark and it doesn't pull any punches. Some of it is not easy to watch. A lot of twists you don't expect. Jason Bateman gives a fantastic performance. He is perfect for a snarky asshole financial adviser. Hopefully he does more serious/non comedic roles.
Can't wait for season 2. Assuming Netflix will pick it up.
This is one of the best seasons of tv ever. Everything from the writing to the acting to the music have been stellar. This show knows how to get your emotions going. I'm so glad season 3 is coming and we will get some sort of ending.
Way more entertaining than I thought this show would be. I shouldn't of waited so long. Eight quick episodes made this an easy watch. I'd like another season but I don't need it.
Merry Christmas. Shitter was full.
"That rug really tied the room together."
I got the chance to see my all time favorite movie on the big screen and that is the way to see it. It was a crowded theater full of people (one was even dressed like Maude in Gutterballs) who love the movie and knew all the jokes that were coming but still laughed hard at them. Out of the countless times I've seen this, this was my favorite time. Infinitely quotable and never dull... the Dude abides.
"Am I wrong?"
A weird show that is not for everybody but I really enjoyed it. I love the world they set up with all the little gadgets and advertising. The performances from Emma Stone and Jonah Hill were both fantastic. I like how they were able to do really different stories throughout the season to mix things up. There were a lot of funny parts too.
A Christmas classic. As a kid I always thought of this movie as mostly the booby trapped house but its only like the last quarter of the movie.
I wonder if that mac n cheese was any good?
Nothing gets me in the Christmas spirit like some Bad Santa. Billy Bob Thornton is the best santa we have ever seen in movies. Well maybe the best mall santa.
Another excellent season. I loved most of the character interactions. New team ups especially Dustin and Steve are the best. I feel like 008 was a waste. Having another with powers and only use them to have Eleven realize she has to go home didn't seem like a good use of someone with powers. Maybe 8 will make her way to Hawkins soon. Also Billy and Max were kinda not used. Max was alright but she seems like a love interest and Billy was just the racist trying to stop here sister. Hopefully they will have more to do next season.
"Put that cookie down. NOW!"
That is Arnold Schwarzenegger's best line ever.
"People love what other people are passionate about."
It is just incredible how just watching a movie can improve my mood 100 times. The soundtrack is phenomenal and seeing it with the dances makes it so much better. The ending is still very emotional even on a fourth viewing.
As i'm watching this for a third time my attention goes to the use of color in this movie. The three primary colors, red, blue and yellow. How blue is for Mia, red is for Sebastian and yellow is for change. The use of purple for the skyline show how well the two blend together. Green for how Mia changes and orange for how Sebastian changes. This a spectacular movie that Damien Chazelle directs perfectly and I cannot wait to see his next. The soundtrack is great and I still listen to it. 10/10 and one of my all time favorites.
I triple dog dare you not to try and not watch this during the holidays. Its not possible.
A must watch ever Christmas. Will Ferrell is a perfect elf.
DID YOU KNOW DONALD TRUMP WAS IN THIS!? (Sarcasm)
Not as good as the first but still a great holiday film.
Is Die Hard a Christmas movie? Definitely!
Is it the best Christmas movie? The best non-traditional Christmas movie.
It isn't Christmas until I see the Hans drop.
A yearly must watch. Nothing else puts me in the the Christmas spirit quite like Die Hard.
Life's a garden...Dig it!
Seriously one of my all time favorite movies. A huge guilty pleasure movie. I know it’s not the best but it never gets old.
Best in the trilogy and one of, if not the, best trilogy ever. Everything about this final chapter is epic. The riders of Rohan riding into battle still gives me goosebumps.
"The battle of Helm's Deep is over; the battle for Middle-earth is about to begin."
This is the weakest one in the trilogy, but still an amazing movie. This is more of a set up for the Return of the King and lets be honest who is watching this and not going to watch RotK next. It still has some spectacular action, Helm's deep still is one of the best action scenes in cinema. The pacing is a little off, can be a little too slow in the first half.
"All we have to decide is what to do with the time that is given to us."
Such a well made film. The beautiful shots to the perfect score to the fantastic acting. This is the beginning of the best trilogy of movies ever made.
The annual rewatch has begun.
You ever just rewatch a movie and remember why you love it?
A fun Christmas movie. I try to watch it every holiday season.
A very underrated comedy with a lot of humor and a good message. You might think this is just another typical stoner comedy and while it has those jokes it also has a strong message about friendship and the loss of family. James Franco and Miley Cyrus' cameos are both fantastic too. This should be a yearly watch for the holidays.
Tim Allen needed to balance out his Christmas cheer after playing Santa Claus for a couple of movies.
One of Bill Murray's better performances and one of the best time travel movies. Heartfelt, funny and it holds up well.
My personal ranking for this season:
Hang the DJ
USS Callister
Black Museum
Crocodile
Arkangel
Metalhead
Overall I thought the season was not as great as the last Netflix season but still very well done. Some episodes felt a little similar like Arkangel and The Entire History of You. And metalhead felt like a total filler episode, nothing special about that one.
Wow the Russos actually did it. I can't believe this movie works as well as it does. The movie just breezed by, there is so much going on and it is paced so well. The action is great and the stakes are real. Thanos's plan is a dumb one but they do make him a well rounded character and he is one of the few villains to actually pull it off. There is a ton of humor but it also manages to be really emotional at times. It is going to be a long year but at least we get to see Captain Marvel in between.
EDIT: After seeing it again it still is amazing how well everything works. This is probably the darkest MCU movie so far but still is fun and has a ton of one liners. The humor is still fantastic and on GotG level. I just realized that it is the original Avengers team that is left to start Avengers 4. I expect most everyone that turned to ash to come back but not without sacrificing the original team.
I've saw this countless times in high school but haven't seen this in a few years. I'm extremely happy that it holds up tremendously well. This is just a non stop action ride. Heath Ledger's Joker is absolutely mesmerizing everytime he is on screen. The 4k blu ray with the full screen action screen are breathtaking. Truly one of the best movies ever.
I love this movie. It really nails the high school feeling. It has its own style and doesn't try to be anything that its not. That's part of the reason why I love this movie so much, its a self contained movie that doesn't have the end of the world on the line. It does have a lot of connections to the MCU but in the end Spider-Man is just trying to save people and be a normal high schooler. Tom Holland just kills it as Peter Parker, my personal favorite Peter Parker, and Michael Keaton is Fantastic villain (I hope he comes back in the sequel). Marisa Tomei's (hot) Aunt May was a lot of fun too. RDJ doing his thing, you either love him or are tired of him. Zendaya as MJ will be interesting to see how it plays out in the sequel, I'm not sure how I feel yet. And Donald Glover as Aaron Davis aka Miles Morales' uncle. I hope we see Miles sooner rather than later. This is one of the most fun movies I've seen in a while and I can't wait to see more Spider-Man in Infinity War and Spider-Man 2 (Michael Mando looks promising as Scorpion, any Better Call Saul fans will be excited to see more of him).
I love what Taika Waititi was able to do with a big blockbuster. It's so much fun and hilarious. I love all our heroes and all the new characters. Korg (voiced by Taika Waititi) was my favorite new character. Thor vs Hulk was fun and the whole planet Hulk subplot was way more entertaining than the Asgard story line. Hela didn't break the streak of boring Marvel villains but I thought Cate Blanchett still did good work with what she had. I really liked that it tied into the MCU with a (short) cameo by Dr. Strange and what looks to be Thanos's ship. Also that quick shot of the infinity gauntlet. Still missing one infinity stone, looking at you Heimdall. How much Korg are we going the get in Infinity War? Not enough!
Thor is going to be an interesting character going into infinity war. One eye, no hammer, and possibly captured by Thanos?
I still can't believe Matt Damon was in this.
I can't hear Immigrant Song without thinking of this movie and smiling.
