I liked Isaac's fight scene with Carmilla and his conversation with Hector.
This is the first overpowered-but-empty-inside-Straight-Man-hero-somewhat-bored-despite-their-chaotic-environment that got me hooked ! I liked the energy and art in the pilot episode, and I'm excited to see where this anime will take me!
I really like this story better than that of the previous seasons, but there's just something kinda dragging about this? I missed Hecfor, Carmilla and the other girls, and maybe Isaac this episode. But I suppose Alucard's developing relationship with Taka and Sumi kinda made up for it.
For someone avenging his murdered wife, Dracula sure is... not doing or feeling much. I guess I was expecting more rage and grief. Plus he's just delegating most of the job??
Right now, Sypha, Carmilla, and Hector are my favorite characters, and they had some really funny and relatable moments here.
I love the pretty art, and the characters' chaotic energy!
I am loving Carmilla, and Godbrand amuses me. So far, the protagonist and antagonist are the least compelling characters to me.
The fight scene between Alucard and Trevor is my favorite one yet. So far, Sypha and Alucard are the most interesting characters for me too.
Okay this was great, but did the old lady leave Wallachia?
God, I love this anime so much! I love the story, the concept, the characters, the art, music, and ambience!! It's also my first time encountering a story that highlights how it is human nature to be compassionate rather than violent in a long while. Quite refreshing. Other things I appreciated in this chapter was the elder acknowledging his problematic view and apologizing to Souo, and the latter openly crying as he called out to the marked citizens!
Ah this series did a good job of establishing the mood of the series, and the characters' individual personalities and relationships. I was already so attached to Sami, and was rooting for Taisha and the man who gave her the flowers.
Having powers and dying young seems like a pretty good deal to me. I checked this pilot out having no clue whatsoever about the series, but the idea of a small community discouraged from expressing emotions and seemingly isolated from the world suggests painful, burdensome secrets!
The pacing of this episode feels slightly off to me. To be honest, I really can't bring myself to care for Farlan and Isabel but Levi's rage and grief were so powerful. No Regrets made Levi's principle of not allowing room for regrets, and his trust in and relationship with Erwin Smith even more meaningful though.
Levi's whole get up here looks so good on him! I don't know if the episode I've seen has been altered to squueze theough some copyright loopholes or what, but some of the camera movement here was weird. Erwin and Levi's first encounter was almost thrilling, but I hope we can get more insight on what the job was supposed to be, how and why the survey corps was involved, and how they got their hands on the maneuvering gear.
I like the tense atmosphere, and how the protagonist is a bit slow and clueless but not annoyingly so. The premise of this series is also still novel to me, so I'm looking forward to how this thing will go.
Why was Nina given extensive screentime mourning Shirley??? Like even longer than Milly???? Her character wasn't even relevant to this episode, and did those two even interact ever?????
I am starting to like Kai and Tosaki! Also wondering when we'll see more of Kei's mother.
Ohmygosh I love the hashira already! Their character designs are so cute ♡Although why is this trial only happening now?
Shinobu has the loveliest voice! I'm so excited for more of her and Tomioka.
The art and music were SO GOOD!
I really enjoyed the three boys' dynamics!
I love Yushiro and Tamayo already! Excited to meet Popo too.
I am SO bothered by the bowl of udon Tanjiro dropped and the way Muzan carried his daughter. I am so excited to see more of Muzan Kibutsuji!!!
The flashback about Muzan Kibutsuji felt so misplaced. The FPS feels and the gnashing of teeth were so cool though.
Eager to find out about the fifth new demon slayer and see more of Popo's sparrow! Urokodaki is also starting to grow on me.
That giant demon's giggles will haunt my dreams...
I felt neither the passage of time nor Tanjiro's power crawl. What happened to Nezuko???? She was suddenly in a coma?????? I wasn't really into the internal monologue either. Sabito's face was the only thing I liked here. What a cutie!
Nezuko and Tanjiro are so cute and sweet!
Pretty character design, backgrounds, art style, and animation!! Some parts, particularly Tanjiro saying goodbye to his family and the action scene, feel a bit over the top though. Giyu Tomioka kinda reminded me of Levi with the "no regrets" thing.
I loved the quote, "bravery is your birthright."
An amazing blend of tragedy and comedy. Peak television!
