This has to be the dumbest, most unrealistic, ridiculously over-the-top show on TV at the moment—and I love it.
i feel like i’m making this show up in real time as it happens.
I wish the Black Hood came back and killed Archie. He's just so so stupid. It ruins Riverdale for me.
Oh, joy. It's time for the musical episode that I've so been looking forward to. (That was sarcasm in case it was unclear.) All of the regulars have major roles in the school musical, of course, because there are really only about ten or twelve people going to Riverdale High while everyone else we occasionally see in school hallways is someone wandering in off the streets, or something. After fast-forwarding through the music, this one features all sorts of reconciliations. Except for Cheryl. That one kinda sorta goes the other way when it comes to her and her mom. I'm pretty sure that there might be some dysfunction going on there. And that final twist? Awesome. The sort of thing that hooked me on this show in the first place. Poor Midge. But hey, her loss is the show's gain.
I don't have a problem with musical episodes, but this felt mediocre to me.
I liked the Alice-Betty moment, the Cheryl-Penelope moment and of course the ending.
I'm usually not a fan of musical episodes (though I hate black-white episodes even more), but I didn't really worry when I heard about the musical episode because so far Riverdale has really nailed all music scenes.
The only complaints I have is that some scenes had some really bad lip-syncing, and that Jughead's camera scenes seemed weirdly out of place and pointless the whole time. It was just a bit too much - I would have rather seen a different episode where they focused on these camera scenes instead of a musical episode and the reality show camera at the same time.
Some random comments/thoughts:
- I have to admit Archie made me laugh again - Once again he's overshadowed by all the other actors who have impressive voices while he sounded so... normal.
- Why does the whole Hiram/Archie story seem more and more like some weird love relationship? "A young man never forgets his first car" - Hiram made it sound like he just stole Archie's first kiss, Jesus.
- Ugh, why did Hal and Alice have to get back together. I feel like they have no chemistry at all (and Hal no personality) and I would rather see them separated and see how Alice slowly starts a relationship with FP (which would make Betty/Jughead awkward, but it wouldn't be the weirdest thing we have on this show).
- Also, we're still not considering therapy or any kind of help for Cheryl? Really? No one? Well, then...
- What the fuck was that ending? It was so absurd and so typical Riverdale, Jesus Christ.
I was not expecting music and singing throughoul the whole episode. Not something I particularly enjoy, but the ending scene made up for it!
So is Jughead going mad from a board game ? Season is getting sillier. The show was always silly but in a guilty pleasure sort of way. Now it makes you think “what are the writers smoking ?”
Hopefully by the finale we don’t get one of the fathers explaining his evil board game plot to commit murder.
Hell, anyone trying to explain their motive will be pretty bad. This year and next maybe they’ll not have a father the killer. The mom did it!
The music and choreography parts, which contributed to most of the episode, were the definition of cringe, I'm afraid.
Overall, the episode didn't feel good. It was Irrelevant & useless, in my opinion.
Yeah right Alice is an fbi undercover :joy:
And Charles IS alive, and not a lowlife drug addict but an esteemed fbi agent, yay!
I have the impression that they write the scripts on foot minutes before they shoot the episode
I have mixed feelings about the finale, because I'll admit it was kind of decent, but couldn't redeem this season as a whole, which was really really shitty.
An edge of your seat finale even if it was a total fucking mess. After making you hate Alice the entire season.
We’re supposed to believe she treated Betty like shit because she was under cover the entire time as an informant for the FBI. But get this, for her son who is really alive.
On top of that the season ends with us supposed to believe that Archie, Betty and Veronica might have killed Jughead. Despite all the people giving each episode a 4-1 review, they do stick around.
Riverdale is such a stupid, yet addicting show.

Ridiculous, cringy, over the top - everything I expect from a Riverdale season finale! PLL could never
It takes a real professional and much focus and accuracy to hold a gun, aim it to the other's hand and shoot to dispossess them of their weapon. I guess Betty got really good with that shooting range/target practice and it came useful for her hahaha!
I don't like this season. But I thought I should stop thinking that the plot quickly became ridiculous, and just judge it on the transition between scenes, development of characters, and the performance of the actors etc. It wasn't bad. But it was not impressive either. In my opinion it was fair. I hope next season redeems itself. It seems promising. Just I hope there is none of that Gargoyle King nonesense anymore.
This felt like a final episode and honestly I wouldn't be mad if it had been. A very good not-ending!
You can't ever trust a dentist...
This episode pisses me so much. Everybody is so annoying with Ross.
Another example why Ross is a complete idiot. Why does it matter if she has hair or not? It's the same person, he liked her before.
To each his own, but of all the possible combinations between the friends (and I am including equal-sex relations) they took the two who have the least chemistry. About the only thing they have in common are their initials.
I don't even know anymore.
And I thought it couldn't get worse than season 3..oh boy, I was wrong! i don't even know what tf is going on with this show anymore..is ridiculous at this point and also embarrassing!
cba haha! WHAT are they doing with Cheryl and Toni, and trying to make them all cute like 'look, we work so well together' NO , you both need help you're wheeling a corpse around the house!
I love that they did a little something for Fred in this episode.
That said, this was another wild ride. These teens lead the most messed up lives while the adults are off getting into fists fights with each other (looking at you FP and Hiram).
They ruined Toni and Cheryl. Now the two of 'em are psychopaths who live in a mansion with a creepy doll, a stuffed body and a batsh*t crazy woman, oh and twins... who even takes care of these twins between getting rid of a body and scaring the sh*t out of your aunt and nephew so they don't come by asking about their dead husband/father. Wow. just wow. Toni being all casual and cool about it makes it worse. Cheryl suggests throwing a body into a lake and wait for it to freeze over and Toni is just there all 'sure, let's do that'.
Betty and Jughead throwing themselves into yet another murder mystery that should be handled by the police. Sure, it would be cool if it wasn't done for the billionth time. I saw a potential story there but they botched it up quickly with this Donna/Chipping mess.
What I did like, Molly frickin' Ringwald being a total badass.
Oh dear Joey getting the girls in trouble then having to dance your way out of it. Another great ep! Favourite part is Chandler and Ross trying to quit gym and ending up spending more money.
Best Season! From Chandler & Kathy to Chandler & Monica..Phoebe's Pregnancy...nd what not.
"Or Maybe... it's because your all hanging around here at 11:30 on a Wednesday"
Tons of flashbacks. You should skip it, waste of time
Clip show. All the actors are clearly phoning it in. Just skip it.
They couldn't resist, couldn't they? They had to pull Richard out of nowhere and throw him back in the mix instead of, for once, just going straight on with the proposal ?
Damn this coffees cold...hey Rach do you mind if I heat this up on your loins?
This episode includes what I feel is the most JOEY moment ever. When they are eating the cheesecake off the floor, Joey walks up and pulls a fork out of his pocket "Alright. What are we having".
