Brilliant adaptation. Every quote is epic.
The best representation of Batman EVER! Part I and II are just amazeballs.
Finally, I saw Frankenstein!
I liked it, it is good and it is definitely a mark in the history of Cinema but I must confess that I thought this Horror Classic would blow me away and it didn't.
Although I think it needed more creepiness in the atmosphere, I didn't felt that as much as I needed. Another thing that bothered me a bit was also the over the top acting, very teatrical. It should have been more natural.
The Frankenstein Monster is a memorable character! A huge and strong creature that never asked to be in the world. Boris Karloff was great incarnating this beast. I found Fritz maybe a bit too silly although I know he is supposed to be really mad. The set design is amazing, some of the sets are very well done!
It may not have the impact that it had in 1931 but it's definitely a remarkable work that needs to be seen.
Creepy. Thrilling. Suspenseful. Conjuring.
My friends and I have been planning on seeing The Conjuring for a while now. There was quite a hype going around about how freaked this left a bunch of our friends, so I guess there was some level of expectation. I wasn't expecting much, though. This is the first "horror" movie I've watched in months (I never really saw the appeal in them, except when watching with friends), and it definitely did not disappoint for me.
At the end of the film though, my friends kept saying how it wasn't scary (which contradicted their screams from a few minutes before that lol) and how it does not compare to Insidious, a film which we all watched together two years before.
What my friends did not appreciate was what I liked about it: there actually was a story. It was developed and did not just focus on trying to scare the crap out of you with shocking music and sudden appearances by creepy-faced hags. I have to admit, I still found some scenes definitely cliched and corny.. It's not perfect, but it wasn't bad either, which is saying something because I've hated horror movies growing up.
Indubitably inferior to The Conjuring but, for me, indubitably better than, for example, The Babadook.
The story is interesting and it have some good moments, but sometimes is a bit too convoluted and this ruins the immediacy of the movie.
Can't say too much about the actors because it seems that most of the weight of the movie is on Annabelle's shoulders and on the general atmosphere. Anyway they all do a pretty decent job.
Sometimes it reminded me a bit too much of Rosemary's Baby and, in a specific thing, Insidious.
Anyway worthy to be seen
It's always nice to see Oliver Queen when you least expect it! I guess we're going to see Barry in Arrow's finale then! YAY
I got legitimately excited when Firestorm and Arrow showed up. Unexpected and pretty cool.
I had no exceptions when I walked into the cinema, but I walked out content and happy. Charlize Theron is a sight for sore eyes even when she's tuff and hard. A movie that should be seen in cinemas, great action throughout the movie.
This movie takes no hostages... The driving was absolutely top notch, the special effects were beyond good and although the action was relentless, it never once felt fatigued or over done. This movie delivers on all its promises. If you want a pure action flick that wastes no time, Mad Max Fury Road is it!
One of the best compliments you can give to a movie is that it takes you and wouldn't let you go before the end credits. That's what Max Mad did to me. The whole movie is so intense that my eyes were glued to the screen. The cinematography is gorgeous and make a world come to life. The main characters feel real and you can rely to them. I like it when a main characters isn't the 'invulnerable' hero, so you feel more tenses in the scenes because 'it could go wrong for him'. All this is directed in a perfect way. All of the action is filmed with a steady cam, thank god! No shaky cam but steady and wide shots which make the action scenes a real experience. I have no real faults with this film, I loved it from begin to the end. So I would recommend it for everyone who wants an awesome 2 hours.
this anime is good.. watch it.. cause even though I don't like mechanical anime.. its awesome and I am loving it.. :D
Great suspense and definitely NOT boring. What a creepy house!
love it! but the resolution of the hybird really sucks :(
This is my very favorite anime. I am so glad the author didn't stop writing it. I will literally cry after this finishes. But this anime has everything. It's so addictive that you look forward to each episode. It has action. Romance a bit. But it's amazing the work is good to. I recommend anyone who likes fantasy to watch it.
The best new Star Wars film in three decades and one of the most satisfying films of the year.
The whole theatre burst into spontaneous cheers several times, and the whole theatre completely went silent - people literally stopped chewing their popcorn - on numerous occasions.
Like you've probably already heard, the movie REALLY is a phenomenal throwback to the original trilogy, with an extra oomph and insane amounts of creativity and new found inspiration that will take the franchise to a whole new level.
The characters are three-dimensional, it's nowhere near as strictly black and white, good vs. evil like in most of the previous movies, and Adam Driver as Kylo Ren is the best example of that. Hands down, the best villian to appear in the Star Wars franchise other than Darth Vader.
Daisy Ridley & John Boyega are thrilling to watch, the old cast members, popping in during the movie were just as fun to watch.
J.J. Abrams and the writers somehow managed to create a plot that was very confined in space and time, yet they effortlessly captured the grand universe that is Star Wars with some pretty great throwbacks to the old trilogy plot-wise. Some might argue that it's lack of creativity and unnecessary repetition, but I thought it was a wonderful homage. It flowed naturally and there really was no dull moment.
Absolutely phenomenal. :)
Just came back from the first official showing. My mind was officially blown / "awoken". Simply amazing. Best movie experience that I've been to in a long time (ago in a galaxy far, far away). This is what a Star Wars movie is supposed to be like.
The fusion of the new cast and the old was masterfully done and I was on the edge of my seat the entire movie not knowing what was coming next. Adam Driver and Daisey Ridley absolutely stole the show in this one but I honestly ending up loving all the new characters. The only downside is that I have to wait until 2017 & 2019 to complete this "new" adventure. I am contemplating if I should freeze myself in carbonite to shorten the wait...
I may or may not be watching this a few more times in the coming weeks (while doing my little dance)...

WOW!!! Intense!!!
There are some effective creepy moments at times and the film is competently acted and directed, with some atmospheric cinematography and a story from the original creator. Yet the original film was effectively a closed story with nowhere to go and the film can do very little except repeat elements from the first film. So we have the initial tragic event to set the scene for the protagonist, the journey to the haunted house that is drenched in atmosphere, the central heroine discovering elements of the backstory that audiences are already aware of and slight variations on scenes to create those jump moments that were so effective in the original. The film is heavily reliant on sudden bursts of volume to shock, though there are one or two scenes that work as well as the first did visually, but generally the film obeys the laws of diminishing returns on horror sequels. Not as bad as it could have been, but still largely unnecessary.
BOY! This was a little bit weird, but it was a great horror film! I had a lot of fun watching it!
An alien that transforms into a woman to abduct people, then turn them into creepy dwarfs to be used as slaves in his home planet is weird but surely it is an original story.
The acting, a little bit forced sometimes, and the special effects might not be the greatest things but the atmosphere is great and the plot make it be a fantastic classic horror!
spoiler ahead
We all have bizarre nightmares... The film looks a little messy sometimes but at the end everything makes sense. Sometimes things in our dreams are confused and don't make a lot of sense. All of our fears and frustations are always present in our mind when we dream about something bad and I think that's what this film is trying to pass through.
One of my favourite films in general. Too many people think a horror/thriller can only be scary, which is dumb. It's allowed to have a story too. In this case the story is so good that the creators were confident enough to add some comic relief, and it worked.. really well.
After seeing the second chapter of Insidious, I can honestly say this franchise is only 1 film away from being the perfect trilogy. James Wan and Leigh Whannell are just too talented for their own good. Brilliant movie.
The movie didn't had any vulgar scenes, any hot chick or anything that usual horror movies does, but it worked for me nonetheless.
Instead it has a freaky environment, good actor performance - I also watched part 2 and I think this one here's a lot better!
The thing I love about this film is that it doesn't do scares for the sake of them. Everything felt fresh and real. And the world the story opens up in the third act is phenomenal and gives life to all the small details in the first 2 acts that other films lack. I was genuinely jumping in my seat and the 'Tiptoe Through The Tulips' theme was delightfully creepy. After just seeing the third instalment, it was nice to revisit the first however nothing beats not knowing the very end unfortunately. Worth it for the second one which I'm looking forward to watching again soon!
Well, I liked it...I´m not a fan of the comics and all that stuff, but it was a really entertaining, interesting cool movie... I´m so gonna get the bluray, I did not feel it overacted or boring at all, and I hope there´s a part 2.
Concept vehicles, concept future world, concept cloning. Watched it for ScarJo and I was happy.
One of the best from Michael Bay. Since it's not all about explosions and is a pretty good movies about clones.
The Chapter 3 is really "needed" to understand the history of the medium lady(Elise). The end was really scary such as the whole film. That part in the theather was awesome! If you saw Chapter 1 & 2 - you can't loose this one! Waiting for chapter 4 ;-)
Not terrible but not exactly great either. Far too reliant on jump scares to the detriment of the atmosphere. Every time the tension would start to build it would get cut far too short by one of the jump scares. Less would have been so much more in this particular case. Still, not a bad rental if you're up to some Insidious brand fun.
Overall I think the season was ok. It was too formulaic and they tried to mimic the first movie way too much. Add to that cardboard acting/bad script and unlikable characters and you have a meh season. Some episodes were better than others but very low kill count for a series. If the writers need to know how to do a serial killer tv show, they should watch Harper's Island for inspiration.
The first season is kind of boring.
But the second season is surprising me. In a good way.
