God, this week is going to be so fucking epic.
i think it was 5 years ago when i finished reading this series. i was 12 and i think i was reading the books for quite a while and honestly, after all these years, i cant possibly be any happier with the outcome. this show has done the books justice so far. its like im reliving my childhood.
its funny, complicated, exciting and one of the best mysteries out there. if you havent read the books, i really suggest them. ive read a lot of famous mystery novels and nothing beats how connected and well built this series is.
the acting was amazing, the few musics of the show were great, there are some real stars here like neil patrick harris who forever owns my heart, and the mystery of lemony snicket and beatrice feels exactly as perfect as it felt in the books. what a solid show 10/10
It's a bit creepy that Violet looks so similat to Emily Browning from the movie with Jim Carrey.
If you like Spader - this is a must watch. Personally i think this is one of his best works and excellent TV drama!
Great show, can't wait to see more in January.
Why not cast Grant Gustin for the part? He is definitely the greatest Barry Allen ever, and a great young actor!
Edit 2022: OK, Ezra, move aside, it's Grant's turn!
I do not deny Ezra was good too, and that the last seasons of Flash have been week sauce (I do agree that most baddies are converted to good after a nice speech, nonetheless I'll keep watching it till the end, I'm that kind of viewer...), but Grant is an established Flash, great actor and apparently a calmer human being than Ezra at the moment. :P
Sorry, I'm team Grant! :)
How can there be 7 votes giving it 36% now in 2016, when the movie is due in 2017???
Looking forward to Prometheus 2!!!
Léon is a film I've watched many times and it never fails to affect.
I could watch it a hundred times more just see to Léon's face as he watches Singing in the Rain; such unabashed joy. He turns around in a near empty theatre looking for someone else lost in a moment of bliss, but finds no one. Rarely has both joy and loneliness been captured so perfectly.
Jean Reno's naive and emotionally challenged Léon is 12 year old Mathilda’s knight in blood soaked armour. He immediately fills an emotional void and she clings to it, starting to play house; cleaning, shopping, washing. Léon and Mathilda need each other in a very basic human way; to love and be loved. The inevitable slide towards her sexual stirrings is uncomfortable and deftly handled by Natalie Portman. Her desire for revenge seems to slip away, lost to just being and working with him, until when pushed he denies any feelings of love for her. She takes incomprehensible action to exact her vengeance on Gary Oldman’s insane DEA agent, but with an unconscious belief that Léon will save her if it all goes wrong.
The “International Version” of Léon, the only I’ve watched, adds 25 minutes to the theatrical release, mostly depicting their growing relationship and brings the gravitas that makes their final scene together simply heart breaking.
I can't understand why there's such a low rating from critics and stuff. What were they expecting??
The scenery, wardrobe, makeup, everything is so beautiful and colorful. I felt like I was watching a play, a musical, everything was amazing. Emma Watson was a great choice for Belle, Gaston was perfect, the Beast was lovely as expected (Dan Stevens is a great actor - I might think Gaston was a little bit better though) and you're there for Lumiére. He stole the show for me. Ewan McGregor proves again he's the best, most versatile actor ever.
It is exactly the same as the animation, just some changes. It was a great movie overall, I cried like a baby the whole time (favorite 'Disney Princess' tale right here).
I can't understand why people wouldn't like it.
UPDATE: I saw a movie so beautiful I started crying™
Stop rating movies before you even know they are in production!!!
Legends: break the first rule of time travel, meet their past selves, fuck up all of time to the point where there are fucking dinosaurs running around present-day LA
Barry, watching from the sidelines: throws his hands up in disbelief, shakes his head, walks away muttering curse words under his breath
Yup, the level of hypocrisy is staggering. On the other hand, if I had to choose between living in Doomworld and risking the possibility of ending up with a T-rex in my backyard, I wouldn't even hesitate.
Eobard got fucked! Yes! That was so satisfying.
Is Rip gone for good? My guess is that he'll pop up every now and then in season 3. I'm glad he won't be around all the time, though. He said it himself: "This team has functioned far better in my absence than it ever did under my leadership". Preach. Sara makes a really great captain. And the team we've got now is so well-balanced. Everyone contributes something and has their own stories, struggles and character development. That's one of the things that made season 2 so much better than season 1 and honestly, Rip's absence helped with that.
The scene between Sara and Laurel was so emotional and tear-jerking. I'm so proud of Sara for being able to overcome her personal desires and do the right thing.
I can't believe how fun this season was. I had a blast watching each new episode. I'm very excited for season 3. I guess we have 6 months of waiting ahead of us now, huh?
One year ago I couldn't believe I would say this but this is the best Arrowverse show atm. Great season and great finale. Hoping it keeps the quality.
such a classic!! i really love this film used to watch every year at christmas
One of the best guilty pleasure comedies of all time. It’s so much fun that I couldn’t believe there were many one star reviews for it.
Absolutely hilarious! Laughed so hard! One of my favorites!
The 10 people who already voted this series which has yet to be released as of today 4/3/2017, are idiots. Suddenly all these moron's are fortune tellers.
Another one of those shows that starts off pretty meh then finds it's footing and takes a significant turn for the better.
Gave up half way through season 1, gave it another chance, and now I can't wait for each new episode!
I was expecting so much more... this season finale was so meh. At least the ending was interesting.., I will play with you Elliot
I don't get why this show gets so much hatred. I watched all the episodes and I found them amazing. I don't give a damn about the book. If it were identical to the book as a minority of bookworms want, there would be no reason to watch it. People should stop comparing, and start appreciating it as a spin-off.
There are exactly one hundred episodes :-)
Three words: I. LOVED. IT.
Listen, I'm a simple bitch, okay? Let's establish that right out of the gate. I can make fun of tropes all day long (especially the romantic ones) but in the end, I will eat that shit right up and walk out of the theater with the biggest grin on my face. Arthur and Mera accidentally hold hands and suddenly I turn into your 80-year-old grandma Gladys clutching her pearls and going "oh my". Jason Momoa and Amber Heard are DCEU's new dynamite duo (as much as I love Gal Gadot and Chris Pine, they've been knocked off the top spot for me). Their chemistry makes my skin tingle. Was the romance cliche? Hell yeah it was! And I adored every second of it!
Of course some stuff besides the romance also happens (but who cares about that? Not Gladys, that's for sure). The main plotline of finding the Trident does feel kinda like a treasure hunt with Arthur and Mera hopping from place to place, but because their chemistry and dynamic is just THAT good, it's all very fun and watchable. The villain is... well, he certainly is, eh? Actually there's two of them, but neither really made me feel anything. Still better than Steppenwolf, I guess? Although that's not saying much. The jokes hit more often than they miss and the movie did get a few good laughs out of me. But the more serious moments hit home for me as well, whether it's Arthur's reunion with his mother or his admission that he knows he doesn't deserve the Trident but it's his only hope of saving the people he loves. The tone feels pretty consistent and the transitions between the dramatic and comedic moments don't seem as jarring as in some other DCEU installments. The fight scenes are awesome. Especially the one in Sicily really made me feel pumped.
My favorite scene was by far Mera really experiencing the life on land for the first time. Her wide-eyed wonder (no pun intended, I guess) not only reminded me of Diana arriving in London, but it also had something wonderfully Little Mermaid-like (and not just because of the hair) about it. It was soft. It was pure. It made me feel warm inside. Mera eating the roses and Arthur immediately doing the same? Nobody's ever gonna ride for me this hard. Those are the kind of scenes that ground these huge superhero movies, that make them feel relatable to me and allow me to take a breath and really connect with the characters. And when 20 minutes later Mera goes full Bad Bitch In Charge on those soldiers and kills them with deadly wine spikes? Oh, I just about lost my mind. I want her to murder me. But aside from that entire sequence, there were plenty of other moments that really got my attention: little Arthur at the aquarium, Arthur and Mera's escape from Atlantis (such a fun chase!), our favorite power couple emerging from the ocean looking like they're on Baywatch (it was great, don't @ me), every time Mera used her powers (the glowing eyes!), the list goes on.
The visuals are absolutely stunning. Gone are the dreary grays of some lesser DCEU movies. Instead we get beautiful colors (Atlantis is beyond gorgeous), some great shots (Arthur and Mera swimming with the flare while surrounded by thousands of Trench people is breathtaking) and of course incredible CGI. It's a very aesthetically pleasing movie. And the music! I loved the music. This is one of the soundtracks I'm definitely gonna need to listen to at some point. And it takes some big balls to put a cover of Toto's Africa in your movie. I appreciate that. Some people are definitely gonna cringe when they hear it, but I had the biggest grin on my face.
Overall, this was a very enjoyable ride. It's quite long, but it didn't drag. I was invested in Arthur's journey. I thought the casting was perfect (and gosh darn do Jason Momoa and Amber Heard look good together! That has to be one of the most visually stunning pairings to have ever graced the big screen). And I just... felt super happy afterwards. I still can't stop smiling. It's a good movie not just by DCEU standards, but in general. I'd love to see it again and I'll definitely try to do so over the holidays. I honestly didn't expect to like it as much as I did. What a great surprise.
I watched the trailer having no clue what this show was about. After watching the first episode I still have no clue what this show is about. But I'm definitely watching the next episode.
Actually I am enjoying this from the very first episode, it's been fun and intriguing at the same time. I have to admit that I started to watch it just to follow the whole MCU plot, But this show I liked it.
WandaVision, even if its a TV show is one of the best MCU programs that have come out so far. The storyline with Wanda and Vision is amazing. I really liked that they got back Darcy from Thor and the theories on the internet about Agness being Agatha Harkness are getting closer and closer to the truth. Also maybe Mephisto (Marvel's devil) is controlling Billy and Tommy is also a fun theory. All that is great but what tops the cake is the reveal of the X-Men in the MCU. The reveal at the end of episode 5 when Evan Peters's Pietro was seen on camera had me rolling on the floor. Overall an amazing show and an amazing experience.
A refreshing series, funny and just the right amount of serious. After each episode, I'm left feeling good and smiling.
This is so well done and by the time it’s over you’ll crave for more! 9/10. Ted rules!!
I love when Marvel is encouraged to do different things.
