The acting kept my attention and is the only reason why I rated "Knock at the Cabin" better than "Old". The script doesn't impress. No real twists or surprises, besides the intruders murdering themselves.. This movie provides nothing but this one setting/"dilemma" and runs with it till the predictable end.
I wholehearteldy enjoyed this one. It's fun but not too silly.
Yes, it's not too innovative, copying trends and relying on memes and cameos. But what matters is that it works.
Keaton still (or again?) is the best Batman and this was the best experience I had with a DC movie since Nolan's Batman trilogy.
I initially had no expectations and after the first minutes I was somewhat concerned about historical accuracy. But hell, it turned out to be a great and unique enough experience.
So A24 actually can disappoint. And it all started with picking such a boring genre.
There are several scenes I'd have gotten rid of, if it would have been my decision. I still consider it a great movie because there are well thought scenes with fantastic performances in great settings.
Humor, drama, tragedy and simply lots of love and appreciation for the cinematic arts.
My weirdest experience with Babylon was to "discover" Olivia Hamilton, as Ruth Adler. I wondered where that talent was coming from, her biography left me even more impressed.
Rhaeneyra has quite a talent to make herself some enemies. And she got even dumber about it.
Generally this show doesn't really provide characters you could consider likeable and reasonable. Alicent is probably the closest match.
John Cena had the only scenes that didn't make me want to vomit.
The first twenty minutes are generic stuff, nothing special. Right afterwards I just wanted pretty much everyone to experience a painful death to end this miserable movie asap.
Rushed ending, simple plot. But a good cast and one of Jessica's smiles manage to overcome most of the limitations.
So refreshing to see a character that I'd consider smarter than myself, instead of the usual mindless beings. To distract them with her "infection" was brilliant.
The only positive I can mention about this movie is that ancient Syracuse looked nice.
It's okay. The series has some goods ideas and few great and emotional scenes. But overall there are too many unexpected/random events or protagonists randomly changing their minds.
I don't get why people get so excited just by actors and/or characters making an appearance.
Yeah, nostalgia is nice. But what exactly did the section with Anakin provide? It certainly didn't do anything for the story or greater arc.
Did Ahsoka learn anything or improve in any other way? Nope. Choose life, be a leader.
Wow, this was so generic he could have screamed that at her in two seconds and be done with it.
Considering the potential and the great cast, this result is a travesty.
Whoever is responsible for the plot should be banned from contributing as a writer ever again.
I barely could imagine something worse.
Dumb, dumber, Fury (or the responsible writers).
Seems they felt no shame to continue with their amateur writing, their amateur combat scenes.
Invasion reminds me of the new Star Trek Shows, such as Discovery or Picard. The very same low effort, low quality result.
Clever idea and well done, how one father causes a panic attack and the other father helps to resolve it.
So far it's not one of the best K-dramas I've seen but I certainly can't blame them to lack ideas.
Mbatha-Raw rocked this, sadly the rest of the episode couldn't keep up.
The series had its moments, mostly thanks to Ma-ri. Though even her mimics got tiresome in between.
But what really annoyed me is all the protagonist's silliness and absurdity just to entertain/fool the viewer, which often made no sense in the context of the events.
The final was almost entirely a trainwreck then. But that's somehow to be expected from k-dramas.
Weird how they focused on boring parts. And then added unrealistic elements because they needed to give the protagonists some highlights.
I think von Roenne's perspective might have resulted in a much better movie.
Geez, I just hope that Tony gets betrayed by absolutely everyone in the end.
No idea how I am supposed to develop any sympathy for Tony. Ever.
Mostly very predictable story, dull and unrealistic combat scenes, generally lots of screaming. It's animalistic in sound and picture and we are supposed to appreciate it for this. Frankly, I was just bored.
Tony and Meadow have so much in common. Rather smart but making embarrassingly stupid decisions. In series. Just because they can.
Great cast, setting had potential and initially it's funny and entertaining enough.
But once when they unite and escape to the library it lost any appeal the movie had.
It's unbelievable how they managed to waste so much potential with so many pathetic elements.
Pathetic dialogues, pathetic characters, pathetic humor, pathetic plot.
CGI and some few scenes covering moral topics within two or three sentences were the only decent parts.
Oh please, Toni could gift his daughter hundreds of cars and somehow he is supposed to pick that one specific car that she'd recognize and results in drama?
No idea what the writers thought here but it's embarrassingly unrealistic.
That was peak Roman in recent episode.
Considers himself a maker, while always relying on playing dumb or wreckless when something is inconvenient.
When the emotions become too much he breaks apart, looking for release in mindless confrontation. And he bites the hand reached to him, lying on the floor.
Logan and Connor dropped some truth bombs, Roman was the most balanced and treasonable character.
Shiv and Kendall are pretty much on a kamikaze mission, following up each miserable decision they made with another one. Reminded me of gamblers, trying to win their losses back with ever greater risks.
