Cheap graphics, excessive Sex scenes ( not the type you'd like)... and overall bad acting.
too much talking and not enough fighting , def does not follow the real history.
the idea of the show was great , but poorly executed , lets hope they dont make a season 2.
A sloooow burn, drags in the build up, but A good clear ending for the series. All summed up very nicely. Not giving anything away, I really enjoyed the last 2 episodes. I like to see endings that tie everything together and this final episode certainly did. :thumbsup_tone1:
very impressed! and by impressed i mean i didn't expect this show to come from Netflix.
Nice story and "ROOM" movie vibes. The daughter was really good, the policeman the same. All the characters were excellent. Very intriguing story that tied up nicely in the end. I really like the way it ended, i did not expect for her to do that.
Excellent. Very intriguing story. Final episode explains it all nicely. Well worth a watch :thumbsup_tone1:
This is the "Prometeus school of little space explorer" all over again.
They have the technology, they have the know-how, but for some reason they put the worst possible people in charge of the most important mission of human history.
It's like NASA put highschoolers inside Apollo 11.
Why writers can't write a good sci-fi show without making people complete incompetents?
I miss SG1
What a piece of shit. Maybe the two worst actors I've seen in a long time. Very very poor. I'm out
A wonderful Cathar intrigue. Highly recommended for lovers of historic drama and /or Da Vinci Code genre of movies.
20 minutes in and this feels like military propaganda. Too slow paced and all the marines are incredibly dorky, like they all came from failed sitcoms. I'll probably fall asleep by the middle of it ...
Well, I really liked it
It really wasn't that bad. I enjoyed the imagination of this retelling during this period of history.
I think it could have done with better screenplay writing efforts in some patches, but overall, the storyline kept me intrigued enough to watch with unashamed anticipation.
I would watch a regular season of this show.
It wasn't that bad. Not as bad as others would have you think. A little slow in parts and predictable in others but not bad.
Unlike most WotW plots, it dealt with the aftermath of the alien attack, not just defeating them.
It did show science over religion and it did compare the British Empire to the conquering Martian horde and that may account for some of the low ratings (people don't like magnifying glasses turned on their way of life or beliefs) but, over the entire series, it showed a complete vision of what could have happened in 1905 and it showed the love and sacrifice between Amy and George.
Great looking visuals, fantastic score and background sounds. Lots of eye and ear candy for home theatre systems. If you like shows about existentialism this show is da bomb! I kept hearing Tom Cruise from Vanilla Sky shouting "Tech Support" in my mind every time I heard or read "wake up" lol.
I loved how the underlying mystery was teased out, with little breadcrumbs strewn throughout the series. Great characters, relationships, backstories and storytelling. Very reminiscent of Lost with lots of nods and tropes to/from other sci fi classics. I wasn't sure what kind of show this was going to be, but was pleasantly surprised to find out how deep this story runs.
Felt compelled to leave a positive review because season 1 was very engaging and fun, and I'm looking forward to S2. - it appears some people are so consumed with politics and tribalism that they can't even enjoy a TV show and have to leave negative reviews (such as the couple who have complained it's too "woke" just because there are gay characters - jeez). In any event, this is not up to the God-tier level of DARK but definitely a step above most genre shows. Unfortunately it shares a lot of similarities with LOST and especially Westworld that make it feel less fresh than it would have even a few years ago.
An enjoyable watch. The mystery is sometimes more annoying than entertaining but it's still worth watching. i really enjoyed how they hired actors that can actually speak the different languages.
The rock n roll music at the end of every episode is incredibly unfitting. It turns a mysterious atmosphere into a silly comedy.
kinda boring to be honest.
I highly recommend this gritty series of animated shorts exploring the intersection between man, technology and the supernatural. Dark and for adults, it reminded me of the Animatrix shorts, but be warned: some of these are genuinely scary, while others will make you think--or turn your stomach. I'd recommend "Lucky Thirteen," "Three Robots" and "Zima Blue," but my favorite had to be "Good Hunting." Do yourself a favor and check out this series that premiered in March on Netflix.
we need more shows like this
2 minutes in and I'm hooked
A piece of art. Probably the best animation series I've ever seen. It reminds me a lot to Animatrix but better. Totally worth it.
That show just loves to mess with your head and leave you hanging there with all the questions and none of the answers, doesn't it? Brilliant.
I love that shit, omfg! Funny, dark, refreshing and always something new. 10/10 recommend!
