I am a millennial and someone once called out 'ok boomer'. I don't think it's an insult. This movie is lovely break amongst all the lousy gimmicky influencer, AI and other nonsense. All three leads are great.
My favorite adaptation of the book. Especially the movie sets.
I love this romcom. it's a refreshing take on the average guy finding love.
I felt they did a real sloppy job with wolverine's costume head piece. similar with Gamits, chest plate and face shield/cover.
They released the G rated version so can't say much about the some scenes but the dialogues and R rated dialogues were fantastic.
Make up was heavily done, faces looked young and deliberately made porcelain smooth.
I felt that the team was deliberately trying to mock mutant costumes. And that Ryan was mocking Wesley Snipes blade by making him look between Mr. Sinister, Midnight Suns blade.
Looking forward to a sequal.
Could not stomach Meredith Hagner's character. Spotlight on John Cena was less in this movie. It was not as good as I was expecting.
I found it entertaining. Though whenever I think of Eli Roth I expect serious mix of thriller and action. That is not there as an Eli Roth project. So definitely that's one aspect of why people didn't like it. And yes I agree it's definitely not like Jamie Lee Curtis to do a movie like this. Then there's Kevin - very little of his on screen jokes. Action and slashing was I guess not on par with the actual game. Florian Munteanu's character didn't do a lot of bashing. The lead villain didn't give vibes of a galactic business overlord.
Are my thoughts. I think the whole project is trying to appeal and attract the environmentally cautious genz to the franchise and apparently the movie is not a filler or support to the games story.

So this plot was good in tbe 80s and 90s but nowadays I would keep children away from watching anything on the subject because they are impressionable. We already have a lot of nonsense around AI girlfriends.
I was a bit disappointed by the casting choice for the lead actor. But Malissa McCarthy did an excellent job.
I think teenage girls should go and watch it.
While Jason Mamoa is no Arnold. Watching this movie again after 2 decades. I realize it's a real spagetti recipe of Mongolian, Thai, Arthur-ian, Sahara costumes and castles. Action sequences are less than there should be. Still descent, to watch though.

it's the typical, the same betrayal, descrption plots, training for revenge, final fight. same thing different IP. Just another boring redundent storyline.

There is no way to sugarcoat the review. While this movie has sloppy writing and b-grade production with stock footage. It actually does a PERFECT job of showing how influencers and Gen-Z are or can be naive, narcissistic and clueless. A nice wake-up call to get your act together. Others can just skip the first 29 minutes of the movie.
