The "original characters" being people of color who get whitewashed was the hilarious topping of the cherry on top.
Don't miss it!
The goof shows up at about 18:54 for me -- freeze your screen just after the guards shout "Destroy it!" and then look on the far left of the screen to spot what looks like a crew member in gray T-shirt, jeans and with a very visible dark watch on his wrist, flattening himself against the wall.
Season 2 was by far not as hilarious as Season 1 but still fine.
It's so much fun. It knows what type of movie it is and delivers. The story kept me on my toes. The ensemble cast is terrific. Chris Evans having a blast playing an asshole, Ana de Armas is great, and Daniel Craig playing a detective with a funny accent is a treat. I want to see this again knowing the plot so I can look for all the subtle foreshadowing.
After a rewatch I am even more impressed with how good the script is and how much is set up and paid off. This one is of the better movies of the year.
Sequels often have a bad reputation, yet I believe the case does not apply here. Its formula is very similar to the prior release, that is the main reason why it works!
It surely didn’t let me down - the movie has a very straightforward approach and cough cough one would have to be significantly petty to identify minor setbacks, cough cough amidst all the fun, action and “chaos”.
Shoutout to the CGI and scenery. Moreover, the cast is on point with their impressions. Danny DeVito and Danny Glover are a nice addition. I’ll be definitely revisiting this movie in the near future.
I have a very big question ... If they used a gem and only brought back half down their father's body, why if they use another gem, the upper half of the body isn't appear for another whole day yet?
That Baby Yoda is too damn cute!! OMG I laughed so hard when he pressed the button after being told not to touch anything.
Mando is the only person on screen I've managed to see fight his way through situations holding a child. Lots of creative action sequences given the slower pace of the last episode. Baby Yoda continues to be the highlight of the show and must be protected at all costs. This is the way.
A film that gets to the very bottom of capitalism and reveals all the horrors along the way.
Poetic, raw and true... If you want your horror to mean something, this is the movie for you.
For those interested in the symbolism:
The Platform is society, where those who have refuse to share with those beneath them who have not.
The Authorities represent the Powers That Be.
Trimagasi: Greed
Imoguiri: Altruism
Goreng: Martyr
Miharu: Revolutionary
Her child: Change
At the end, the martyr dies delivering the message of change (which was created by revolutionaries) to the Authorities, who are unaware of what's going on.
Solid episode, was def entertained through out. The chemistry between Emma and Seth in this is great
I also like how the naming of the unborn son was the same as the truck driver who ran Annie and her sister off the road. You can tell it really threw Annie off guard which in turn made her remember an actual memory from her past Once she got back in the car.
The paradigm of material being cut from a book to fit into the run time of a movie doesn't really apply here because next to nothing from it happens in the film. It bares little resemblance to the book at all and is completely shallow for it. Conservatively I'd put it at 10% of the book translated to the screen in a recognisable form.
It should be "Inspired by" rather than "Based on" however I didn't find it that inspired at all. It's unbelievable to me that Cline himself handled the screenplay, at least in part. People that love the film will be thoroughly disappointed by the book, especially the PG-13 crowd the film brought in.
The Oasis itself was done an utter disservice by portraying it as basically just a game, it was so much more than that.
Disappointing.
Did you see that ludicrous display last night
Although Titanic is seen to be the biggest cliche, and there's a nonsense stigma around that you're not a 'true' movie lover if you call Titanic you're favourite film, here's my take on it...
This film was waaay before it's time, the visuals, the directing, the casting, the production.. All of it is immensely professional and well thought out for the era it was filmed in, heck, you struggle to find something that flows so well, 20 years later. I don't know another 3 and a half hour movie that joins together, is constantly surpising and dramatic yet hopeful in the way that Titanic is.
Need I mention how amazing Leonardo and Kate are? Still some of the best acting I have seen to date.
It's unfair to just see this film as 'Titanic' something that everybody knows... This film is a masterpiece. The attention to small detail, the character development, the fiction within non-fiction, the way it takes over your emotions and pulls on your heartstrings, leaving you broken yet hopeful.
I truly appreciate this film for everything it is and cannot fault it. Although I must say (THERE WAS ROOM FOR TWO!!!)
I really want Drummer to become a series regular next season.
I thought this episode sucked. Boring as hell.
What’s happened to Mr Burns? He sounds like someone who can’t do a Mr Burns impression
Homage to 80s music, first love and big brothers. This was a pleasant surprise in last night's sneak preview. One of the best music movies I have ever seen and easily a top 5 movie for 2016. Watch it!
I don’t want to live on this planet anymore.

Second season is definitely better than the first but boy does it still drag places, this is one of those places. Aneesha Malik is SUCH a bloody annoying character too. Her perpetual show of disdain for just about everyone really makes me wonder why anyone in their right mind would help the bitch at all, let alone risk their lives to save her damn kid, especially with the 'limp as a wet lettuce leaf' motivational speech she delivered last episode!
i really like the pace for me i do not find it slow or boring, there is probaby to much story to tell and what are the showing is enough for now. I like how they trying to connect everything.
Also the opening credits are fantastic.
The best episode so far in my opinion. I thought the first half of the season was a little all over the place, but I felt like it finally all came together in this episode.
Not sure how I feel about the ending, but we’ll see where it goes.
The flashes in to her mind is kind of getting annoying. Not sure if I like this type of format.
I'm just gonna say that this is great. Not like any other alien invasion, and the cliffhanger just teases more to come.
We're almost at the halfway point of the final season and we haven't had a single real conversation between Dorothy and Julian. Or him and Sean for that matter. It’s just Leanne taking up screentime episode after episode to awkwardly monologue her way through it. She was very cringe this episode. They need to start focusing less on Leanne and give more of the other 3 again.
Leanne: "The costumes belong to Dorothy's [dead] mother, they're not for you to touch." 5 minutes later, she gives them to the homeless to wear during Halloween.
I wonder if Dorothy is ever going to remember the real Jericho? I really hope this series doesn't end in a cliffhagger.
"I'm prepared to do whatever it takes to get rid of Leanne." - Sean finally coming to a realization that Leanne Grayson is bad. It’s about damn time! Hopefully things in this season are definitely going to take a turn next episode.
One thing has been consistent though, the cinematography has been great, in my opinion.
Damn this show is f'ing good.
Sometimes shows need episodes that are simply set up. I feel like this episode was part 1 to a two episode story. But the dynamic between Pascal and Bella carried me through, needed episode for the character development. It was a nice touch of realism that they explain Joel's bad hearing on the fact that he’s shot a lot of guns over the years, without ear protection.
As someone who hasn’t played the games or know much backstory, the quick jump in this episode to Kathleen interrogating the doctor about Henry threw me off. I thought I missed some scenes.
I find the show to be entertaining. But it isn’t anything groundbreaking. Some of the hype for it seems overblown because it feels like many other post apocalyptic shows/movies.
I don’t even know why I went through the whole season without liking a single episode. I guess after my Brooklyn 99 binge I was just excited to see Melissa Fumero in something but this show just isn’t good. The characters are bland, the writing is way too reference-ridden, the plots are formulaic and worst of all, the jokes don’t land 99 out of a 100 times.
Please just greenlight the spinoff about the piano-playing frog already!!
