Very pretty, but it's the kind of very confusing pseudo "artistic" movie that goes all over the place, boring/confusing story and uninteresting characters..
Yet another Ip Man movie, but this one is really confusing, i couldn't tell who's who and what's going on most of the time, i was like:
"Wait.. who's fighting? oh another scene.. is that ip man old? oh no that's his master.. oh that guy is ip man.. wait who's that guy suddenly barging in and talking about the north style? who's the girl? ip man's wife? and why does she have an army? oh cool a scene that looks like ip man 2! oh great.. i'm lost again.."
Also there's a LOT of (boring) talks.. after one long hour (the movie is over 2hours long) of random talks and overlapped scenes with no indications of dates and locations that kept me in my confusion, i prefered skipping them and only watch the fight scenes.
Too bad the movie is probably too historical especially for a foreigner like me, it reminded me when i watched Lincoln, lots of talks.. couldn't tell what's going on..
At least there are awesome and detailed kung fu scenes to save this one! The whole movie is beautiful and very artistic, a must to watch in HD, the fight scenes and kung fu movements are very detailed and sometimes in slow motion, great to watch if you are interested in martial arts.
Just got back from the theater and...
Damn!! It was awesome, the best Iron Man movie, just a little disapointed by some points in the story that detract from the comics but great nontheless :)
Fails Miserably.
I usually like musicals, but this one... i watched 30mn of it but i couldn't go further.. the "singing" (if you can call this singing..) is just awful.. (the women, like the ones in the sewing factory are especially hard to listen to..)
When Javert and Valjean are in the factory and SHOUT (no that's really not singing..) at 2 meters from each other while they are supposed to talk casually... it just look silly..
Actually Jackman is quite good, if he wasn't talking in english, he could really pass as a frenchman (the beard helps a lot ^^ ) but the scene at the church gave me mixed feelings between his good performance and the preachy preachy text..
Russel crowe as Javert.. not so much.. he looked like a barking dog everytime he tried singing.. that was good at the begining because that's what you would expect him to do when talking to a prisoner. It was really off in the factory's office, barking at the "mayor"..
Overall they really didn't HAVE to TRY singing EVERYTHING, there could have been talks, followed by songs in the most important parts. Memorable songs! Like West side story or Grease. They didn't sing ALL THE TIME.
Singing everything feels forced and off and they just end up trying to make everything rhymes, they tried too hard and it just gave a lousy text.. also there was no rhythm.. at all.. not only in the songs, but the pace of the movie also.
I tried to watch because there are good actors in there, i really like Anne Hathaway.. but it wasn't enough..
very fun movie that reminded me of old Moliere plays i've read at school, the hero is poor, uses and makes fun of the fat rich guy, disregard the authority and the church, everything gets settled in a trial at the end and everyone ends up with the right person to live happily ever after and the "power that be" has been made a fool :D

At the begining they had everything right, the feel and overall design reminding of alien 1 and 2 (with a touch of modernity, touchscreens and holograms) good actors... great special effects... but most of the crew is completely moronic, like FatalMuzza said, scared in the dark one minute, and then playing with alien serpents the next...
Ooh yeah the most disapointing.. the MONSTERS!! I dont mean the "architects" i mean the squishy things with tentacles..
okay the "snakes" (very penis shaped that really really wanna go into somebody's mouth for some reason.....) kinda looked like facehuggers without legs when they opened (even though i dont remember facehuggers having teeths..) born from worms... worms.. how did they even bring worms there? stuck on the shoes but not squished? yeah whatever..
And then a zombie.. how did that even happen? he got somehow posessed by one of the worms like a goauld? >.<
okay now let's throw another squishy little alien but with more tentacles, i'm not sure how it would have made it's way through her belly.. at least with an alien you know, they are tough, not squishy..
and then it manages somehow to grow HUGE with many eyes and big mouth and teeths and more tentacles..... oh yeah let's throw another "penis" into the "architect's" mouth... wtf... is it some hentai tentacle rape movie?
And to finish us completely after all this mess.. let's make some kind of badly "fan made" alien thing... they didnt even respect the previous movies..
see when a facehugger impregnate a predator, it makes a HUUUUGE SCARY predalien. (even taller than a predator)
so here when a HUGE facehugger impregnate a TOUGH and TALL (taller than a predator) humanoid being... the result is some small unfinished alien??
starts slowly but gets better when you get in.
