cloned from Star Trek (canon) by dgw

Official Star Trek productions, including reboots, excluding fan/documentary/behind-the-scenes productions.

Sorted by production order, not in-universe chronology. I think Star Trek should be viewed in production order, so it's evident how the franchise has changed over the last 50+ years.

cloned from Arrowverse by Rhett. M

Arrowverse viewing order:

[pending on update...]

This is the simplified list for easy viewing order for Arrowverse!

  • Includes:
    • Arrow
    • Flash
    • Vixen
    • Supergirl
    • DC's Legends of Tomorrow
    • Freedom Fighters: The Ray
    • Constantine: City of Demons
    • Batwoman
    • Black Lightning

Webisodes (you can find most of these videos at YouTube or at CWtv website):

  • Blood Rush - between Arrow S2E05 and S2E06.
  • Chronicles of Cisco - between Flash S2E17 and S2E18.
  • Superhero Fight Club 1.0 - is a promo for the final episodes of Arrow S3 and Flash S1 (arrives after Flash S1E18)
  • Superhero Fight Club 2.0 - is more or less a promo for Supergirl joining CW. (arrives before Flash season 3)
  • Constantine - watch before Season 1 of Constantine:
    • Modern Mystery: Tales of the Dark Arts - Who is John Constantine?
    • Ravenscar Institute Patient Debrief
  • Stretched Scenes:
    • The Flash - Stretched Scene #1 : Flash S4E06
    • The Flash - Stretched Scene #2 : Flash S4E07
    • The Flash - Stretched Scene #3 : Flash S4E09 (there's also a deleted scene for this episode)

Constantine has a cameo in Arrow S4E05. I do recommend you to watch this series, but there's no must. But he might get back into the Arrowverse one day. (and I also would recommend to watch it in this order: 1, 6, 2-5, 7-13. Episode 6 was shot to air as the second episode of the series)

I have added Supergirl Season 1 before the crossover episode to the list. You can watch it basically whenever you want, as long as you watch it before Flash S2E18 or after Flash S2E18 (I personally prefer to watch it before Flash episode, but both ways work). Also S1E04 and S1E05 were aired ouut of original order. Episode 5 should be viewed before episode 4

Constantine: City of Demons: So it appears that Constantine: City of Demons is not a continuation of the Constantine series and so it is not included in Arrowverse. Instead it's in the same universe as Justice League Dark (so it's in DC Animated Universe). But for now I'm going to leave it in the list, as it still explains things like "Newcastle" and etc. But they may get connected, as Constantine will becomes a regular on DC: Legends next season. So we will wait and see.

Upcoming:

Crisis on Infinite Earths: Starting with Supergirl part 1 - Sunday, December 8th, following with Batwoman part 2 next day on Monday, December 9th, with The Flash part 3 on Tuesday, December 10th and then starting the new year off with Arrow part 4 Tuesday, January 14, 2020, right after followed by the last part of the Crossover event on the same day, Legends of Tomorrow part 5 ending the Crisis on Infinite Earths crossover event. This event will also tie-in Black Lightning into the arrowverse universe among other things.

There will be a Arrow spin-off series following Mia (Katherine McNamara) also Canaries Laurel Lance and Dinah Drake will be part of the spin-off.

Earths / Connected Shows

The Flash (1990) - earth 90
Supergirl -earth 38

Love them or hate them, remakes are a part of every Horror Fan's life. So many remakes end up being so bad, that the word itself has become a sort of cinematic vulgarity that makes most of us cringe; honestly, we had to stop ourselves from slapping our computer screen when we read about the upcoming C.U.J.O. remake.

Aside from the worst of them, most Horror Remakes tend to be little more than unnecessary money-grabs that bring nothing new to the table, which leaves them middle of the road efforts at best. Every now and then though, a remake comes along that surprises us by being good, or dare we even say every bit as, or even better than, the original.

Not often, but it happens.

For the first 6 movies in the list:

If you're in the mood for a quality Horror Remake, any of the movies in our Top Six will do you right. For us, The Thing is the best of them, although The Blob will always be one our our favorite Horror flicks ever. Nevertheless, they all bring their own unique and terrifying vision to the world of Horror Remakes.

For the remaining:

Below are the rest of our "Best of" Horror Remakes, and of course, a few Honorable Mentions thrown in for good measure. Keep in mind that no "Best of" list is ever perfect, but merely a solid starting point for anyone looking to watch some great flicks.

The last 6 being "Honorable Mentions".

Most Home Invasion flicks tend to involve some malevolent bastards forcing their way into a home, with the goal of terrorizing its occupants in mind. Sometimes they involve someone hiding in an attic or an upstairs room. Sometimes, it's a tiger that does the invading.

No matter what the scenario though, the average Home Invasion movie makes for an intense and terrifying ride. The above average ones make that ride even better.

For the first 6 movies in the list:

If you're in the mood for a truly quality Home Invasion flick, any of the movies in our Top Six will do you right. For our money, Inside and Them are probably the best of them, but then again they all bring their own unique and terrifying vision to the Home Invasion Sub-Genre, so enjoy them all!

For the remaining:

Below are the rest of our 30 Best Home Invasion flicks, and of course, a few Honorable Mentions thrown in for good measure. Keep in mind that no "Best of" list is ever perfect, but merely a solid starting point for anyone looking to watch some great flicks.

As nasty and terrifying as Horror movies are in general, they can also be a bit absurd to a point. When a movie comes along and decides to play on that absurdity for laughs, the results are often a thing of beauty... when done right, of course.

In their own way, Horror Comedies can be every bit as satisfying of a watch as standard Horror flicks are, and sometimes, even more so.

For the first 6 movies in the list:

If you're in the mood for a truly quality Horror Comedy, any of the movies in our Top Six will do you right. For our money, Black Sheep and What We Do in the Shadows are probably the funniest of them, but then again they all bring their own unique and humorous vision to the Horror Comedy Sub-Genre.

For the remaining:

Below are the rest of our 30 Best Horror Comedies, and of course, a few Honorable Mentions thrown in for good measure. Keep in mind that no "Best of" list is ever perfect, but merely a solid starting point for anyone looking to watch some great flicks.

Witches are as synonymous with Halloween as are pumpkins and black cats, and so with October rapidly approaching, we got to thinking about Witch movies, and how great they can be when done right.

Some movie Witches are benevolent and use their powers for good, but in the Horror Genre, most tend to be wizened old crones who are out to kill or eat people, or even worse, take their souls. Most Witches serve Satan you see, so sacrifice is a big part of their daily lives.

For the first 6 movies in the list:

If you're in the mood for a truly quality Witch flick, any of the movies in our Top Six will do you right. For our money, Suspiria and Black Sunday are probably the best of them, but then again they all bring their own unique and terrifying vision to the Witch Flick Sub-Genre, so why not just enjoy them all!

For the remaining:

There's something about a ship full of people in deep space who find themselves set upon by some malevolent force, that makes us smile like fools. Alien started it all for us, and years later it was Event Horizon that re-invigorated our love for Horror flicks set it space, but there are others out there that are just about as good, even if a lot of them are not purely Horror.

There just aren't a lot of Horror movies set in space, and so we had to be a bit liberal with the titles that we included on this list. Below, you'll find a few movies that lean more towards the Sci-Fi side of things, as well as a few that are straight-up B-movies. We even included Hellraiser: Bloodlines here, because it featured Cenobites in Space.

It's a small list that takes some liberty with boundaries, but Space Horror is a tiny sub-genre that we love, and so we felt that it deserved a bit of recognition.

For the first 6 movies in the list:

If you're in the mood for a truly quality Space Horror Flick, any of the movies in our Top Six will do you right. Alien and Event Horizon are probably our all-time faves, but then they all bring their own unique and terrifying vision to the Space Sub-Genre.

For the remaining:

Below are the rest of our Best Space Horror Flicks, and of course, a few Honorable Mentions thrown in for good measure. Keep in mind that no "Best of" list is ever perfect, but merely a solid starting point for anyone looking to watch some great flicks.

When we think of Slasher Flicks, we mainly think of masked killers, blood, clever kills, and promiscuous teens in various stages of undress; because that's what they are, for the most part. There are plenty of Slashers that offer more than just visceral thrills though, giving us things like atmosphere, tension, genuine terror, levity, and even solid stories that help fray our nerves in different and clever ways.

No matter what variety they come in though, the Slasher Flick is an important staple in the Horror Genre, and one that most Horror Fanatics tend to embrace with open arms.

For the first 6 movies in the list:

If you're in the mood for a truly quality Slasher Flick, any of the Classic movies in our Top Six will do you right. All 6 of them are true Classics for a reason; they changed the Horror Genre as a whole, each to different degrees, and they all bring their own unique and terrifying vision to a Sub-Genre that is usually dismissed as being nothing more than a vehicle for cheap thrills.

For the remaining:

Below are the rest of our 30 Best Slasher Flicks, and of course, a few Honorable Mentions thrown in for good measure. Keep in mind that no "Best of" list is ever perfect, but merely a solid starting point for anyone looking to watch some great flicks.

The Found Footage/POV/Hand-Held/First Person sub-genre is a derisive one at best. FF flicks can be intense and terrifying, making you feel like you;'re actually watching real footage of real people being stalked, haunted, etc... and those are the good ones. Found Footage flicks can also be cheap, shoddy, predictable, and overly-familiar, which basically renders them useless as far as scares go. Those are the bad ones.

Below, we've tried to cull the absolute best "Footage" movies from the hundreds and hundreds that are out there, which was no easy feat. We tried our best to be objective about which movies made the list, and which ones didn't, but in the end, our personal tastes played more of a role here than they usually do when we make a Best of list.

There will no doubt be a few movies missing from this list that will make people cry foul; Grave Encounters and The Den are two good examples of popular FF flicks that many Horror fans loved, but did nothing for us. Sorry.
We've also included a few movies in our Honorable Mention section that might raise some eyebrows: End of Watch isn't Horror at all, and Sinister may have some great Found Footage in it, but is by no means a FF flick. They both do the FF thing extremely well however, and so here they are.
The Top Six for this list was a tough one to put together, mainly because a lot of the movies below could easily be at the top of the list. Each of the movies in The Top Six were included for specific reasons, but that doesn't mean that Home Movie or The Tunnel weren't as good. Rankings are a flexible thing, so take them as you will.

For the first 6 movies in the list:

If you're in the mood for a truly quality Found Footage Flick, any of the movies in our Top Six will do you right. For our money, Noroi and [REC] are probably the best (and most terrifying) of them, but then again they all bring their own unique and terrifying vision to the Found Footage Sub-Genre.

For the remaining:

Below are the rest of our 30 Best Found Footage Flicks, and of course, a few Honorable Mentions thrown in for good measure. Keep in mind that no "Best of" list is ever perfect, but merely a solid starting point for anyone looking to watch some great flicks.

This is it. The end of the lists. Finally! So the other day I posted the best documentaries of the decade as selected by a group of acclaimed documentary filmmakers. Now, we’ve got The Documentary Blog’s own top 50 docs of the decade. I was originally aiming for 25 but I just couldn’t cut it down, so 50 will have to do. Let me stress that this list represents my own personal opinion and nothing more. Hopefully some people can use this as a starting point to check out some great films. Feel free to share your own lists in the comments and let me know what I missed! One thing’s for sure; it has been a great decade for documentaries!"

In response to the American Film Institute’s list of the 100 greatest American movies, film scholar Jonathan Rosenbaum took the AFI to task for what he saw as a product "symptomatic of an increasingly dumbed-down film culture that continues to outflank our shrinking expectations." Of course, any list of this kind (including Sight and Sound’s decennial roster and the Village Voice Film Critic’s Poll from a few years back) is not without its blind spots. Participants are often forced to pick a select group of favorites and make a number of concessions ("Well, if I want Antonioni to make it into the collective top 10, I’d better hedge my bets with L’Avventura instead of my personal favorite Zabriskie Point."). Consequently, underdogs and obscure gems have little chance of being represented on a composite list that’s typically unveiled with little-to-no "justification for any of its titles" (to borrow again from Rosenbaum). Rather than present a list that looks like everyone else’s, Slant Magazine has decided to do something a little different. While you will find many popular classics and critical favorites on our list of 100 Essential Films, our goal was to mix things up a bit. This list should not be construed as a definitive "greatest films" package, but as an alternative compiled by a group of kinky film-lovers wanting to give serious critical thought to neglected, forgotten and misunderstood gems. We aimed for the kind of list where post-Cahiers Orson Welles could stand shoulder-to-shoulder with a pre-pastiche Brian De Palma; where it’s understood that Hitchcock, Dreyer, Ford, and Ozu created masterpieces besides film school staples like Vertigo, The Passion of Joan of Arc, The Searchers, and Tokyo Story; and where the postmodern irony of Douglas Sirk’s Imitation of Life is allowed space next to its modern-day equivalent: Paul Verhoeven’s Showgirls (gasp!). Because space was tight, documentaries, shorts and animated films were not eligible. Additionally, we limited directors to no more than one spot on the list.

"ALL-TIME" 100 Movies is a compilation by Time magazine featuring 100 of the best films released between March 3, 1923 (when the first issue of Time was published) and early 2005 (when the list was compiled). A list of TV-Shows which were adapted either Manga, Manhwa or Anime.

Mainly did this because I started one for films. As I'm not really a big Asian-Drama avid I sourced most items from the following thread:
http://myanimelist.net/forum/?topicid=15317&show=0

There are still some items not on TVDB, feel free to add some:

Official Star Trek productions, including reboots, excluding fan/documentary/behind-the-scenes productions.

Originally sorted by production (Rank) order, not in-universe chronology. I think Star Trek should be viewed in production order, so it's evident how the franchise has changed over the last 50+ years.
