Not a bad way to spend an hour and a half, watched it with a friend and had a fun time. Before I watched it I had heard someone say it watches like a series of connected tiktoks, and yeah that vibe is kinda there. If you just flow with the goofy dance and singing scenes and let it be stupid then its a good time.
The "I have to sacrifice everything say sorry to a dead person" plotline is absolutely mindnumbingly stupid.
This show is downright incredible. Viewing the world through Joe's perspective is absolutely refreshing. The episodes mostly focus on a simple topic like rocks, beans, or going on a hike but mixed in is a recurring cast of interesting characters who's positive interactions build a small, pleasant, and funny world in Michigan. Through the recurring cast, the episodes manage to cover a lot more than the simple premise (like beans) and tell beautiful stories about friendship, love, life, and loss. Joe Pera did a fantastic job of pointing to the "boring" parts of life that we all experience in order to make you actually think about them, usually wrapped up with a wholesome moral.
Only downside is the episodes are only 11 minutes. I do think the short format does benefit the show, I wouldn't mind 5 more minutes though
Lmao what in the hell was that gun fight scene
Throughout season 1 I’d already accepted a certain level of “this show is cheesy and sometimes you gotta look past some bad writing”…. lol 15 minutes into this episode it seems they’ve stepped things up to whole new levels. Hopefully the show evens out more later
Fine story - it does feel like lately they’ve forgotten the whole “jury selection” part of the show… they haven’t talked about the jury much at all in the last few episodes
A fun show, particularly if you’re fans of Dan, Spencer, Jeff, and Erin. The guests are usually pretty good (some are great) and seem to have a fun time and the show is well animated. The show doesn’t take itself too seriously and allows the regulars and guests to have fun with the quest.
Fantastic season finale. Had all the things I come to this show for. The action scenes in space were great both above and on the moon. I'm sorry to see Tracy and Gordo go, but I think the way it happened was quite powerful. Excited to see the ending tease season 3 focusing on / taking place on Mars, and given the additional time jump of it seems we'll likely be meeting a large swath of new characters. Can't wait for the next season, while Apple TV+ has a few good shows, this show alone justifies the existence of the service for me.
Ugh I’ve painfully seen the kiss with Karen and Danny coming the whole season. Glad it didn’t go anywhere…. For now
Too early to tell where exactly the season is going, but I felt like this was a pretty strong start
Marissa’s marriage didn’t work the first time because she was always out of the country because she worked for... homeland security?
Did Chunk just break into song for a minute+ and then the show just went on like it never happened?
Apparently I watched it 2 years ago and gave it a 6/10. I have no memory of this.
A great show about good friends in every day situations exaggerated to hilarity. Their innocence and heartfelt attempts to do the right thing is fun to watch. Hopeful they make more - the first season is definitely worth a watch.
If you can suspend some disbelief about the science of it all it can be a pretty fun show. Didn't take it too seriously and watched with a friend- we had a good time. I would say I expected a bit more from these names and Showtime but some of these comments are a bit too harsh imo.
So far so good - pretty fun show. Coach Lasso is such a positive character, the show put me in a good mood pretty easily. Love Jason Sudeikis of course
Edit after finishing the first season: Fantastic show all around, I looked forward to it every week. Coach Lasso dealing with his struggles as he brings together the team makes for an interesting and entertaining story
The characters can be annoying and the CGI and physics for stunts are rough, but I still think the show was fun
I think this show is hilarious, Don Cheadle is fantastic. The store is interesting and does a decent job of surprising you.
Filler episode... they’re really really stretching this Adam situation.
haha this was an overall ridiculous episode. Some random cops from Hawaii are repeatedly trusted to handle International (European) situations and then receive an award from the queen?
Maybe I just haven't been perceptive enough or maybe they did a terrible job of marketing but I was under the impression that this was the final movie in the series. I based this idea off the fact that the final book is called "Allegiant" and they didn't put "part 1" or anything in the movie's name. I walked out of this movie feeling completely underwhelmed. The movie ended with zero closure and it answered no questions the viewer may have. The entire movie seemed like an awful setup movie for a movie that I didn't know existed. It took several google searches for me to even find that there is a movie following this one. Overall I thought it was a pretty weak attempt at the book series. Even when I try to keep this review based on the movie as it's own separate entity I can't say it was a very enjoyable. There were a couple neat little things like the small drones but other than that the special effects sucked and the movie was boring. I hope the next film can recover for me a bit of the (granted, little) respect I had for this series. I don't usually walk into these movies expecting much, I just go to be entertained and try not to over analyze but I really didn't enjoy this movie.
