This episode was definitely better than the pilot. Less burping and shouting and the inception parody was good. Also the nod to Lawnmower man was solid.

The pilot was good, but this episode is hand's down one of the best of Season 1 with two hilarious, memorable plots going on simultaneously (The "Inception" spoof and superintelligent dog's takeover).

Despite the pilot being pretty fun, Lawnmower Dogs is the first episode of Rick and Morty that I would truly call good. The humor's great, the concept has that trademark Rick and Morty absurdity and every character is used pretty well. I feel like the resolution was a little rushed and poorly developed, but still a solid package overall.
I think the bit with the dog gets a little ridiculous, but I loved the rest.
