I can see this season not being very popular: there's not so much lesbian sex or whatever -- which is why a lot of people still watch this show. Instead, this season reveals the ongoing of a revolution, and how people organize themselves in it. I think it was very cool -- not boring at all. It exposes the truth about the whole prision system and people should be listening to that, bc it happens IN THE REAL WORLD. I think we all should look at that and realise the main focus of the show. Again, this show is not just about Piper or Chapman, it's about such a bigger canvas. All of these women, their stories, how they ended up there, how they made a revolution, and how they seek justice and basic human needs (and how they are DENIED it). Please, look at the bigger picture.

This season is so big. It's so loud.
This season is important. For all of us.

You're missing a few crucial points here.

Piper and Chapman are the same person.

Also, I agree this season is very loud ideologically, shows very real truths about the prison system... but at the same time don't you think they also gave the opposition every weapon they need to still argue about how we should treat prisoners?

Sure, basic humanity... that argument, is closed. Should be a postulate.
But what more can you give to these people? In good conscience, after seeing how they ruined everything for everyone, imploding as a group, can you actually say:

Yes, this show got every point right, and we should listen to all they're trying to say? I think not.

Maybe all the bad points were meant to be theatrical, but how far is it from reality? How long of an arm can you give criminals? Even those who became criminals because of their fucked up life?

How do you quanitify how much trust can you put in these people?

There's good logic in both of these standpoints, it's just hard finding a mid point.

Basic humanity being the first right that should be agreed on both points. So, normal quality of life inside the prison.
But can you deny strip searches? Random strip searches? Can you deny guards getting handsy and / or borderline violent when they come up with no compliance of an order? (Of a legitimate order)

How do you control goblinism of the people in charge? Stealing money? Saving money?

This is just too big for a tv show, but it is a start.

For that I am grateful, but they flew too close to the sun.
