Love, Simon 2018

7.7/10

This film held my attention. The only reason I went to see it, was that I enjoyed the soundtrack (listened before knowing about the movie), and also saw Rob Simonsen did the score (he also did the score for Nerve, one of my favorites), but I did not know much about the idea behind the plot.

That being said, I enjoyed this film. It didn't feel like the typical Hollywood BS of a gay man will be sexually into all of his male friends/can not have a platonic relationship. This was more like, normal everyday life, of someone trying to find a way to deal with their abnormal sexuality. I was able to relate to this a lot more than other films' attempts, and I don't even agree with the lifestyle, so that is saying something.

Overall, a good watch, with some great and familiar actors.
