I have pretty much had my fill of mission impossible movies. I was done 4 or 5 movies ago and yet I keep watching, expecting them to somehow get better. When I saw this one was in the 90% range in rotten tomatoes, I really got my hopes up. And while the movie wasn't bad, it really wasn't much different than all the other mission impossible movies. And the most frustrating thing of all of this is that Tom Cruise is really starting to show his age. You see him along side his first wife, see how old they both look, and then you have his current love interest who looks 20-something. Some actors learn to age with grace. They still do action flicks and still kick a** but we acknowledge that Thayer older, we acknowledge limitations and they're put in realistic roles and situations. And yet, they still want to pretend like Tom Cruise is 20. None of his recent movies show any realistic acknowledgement of aging, or of reality in general. I mean, they have him up against Henry Cavill for goodness sake. While I believe Cruise's character could have more experience, there's no way he has more strength or stamina. Can we just come back to reality even a little bit? And yes, I know it's a movie, but there's a limit to how much I can suspend reality and this is just too much.
