@broknsymetry as far as I understand they were out of juice so no electricity to start engines, hence the sailing :)
@broknsymetry The whole point of the chariot was to protect and hoist Maureen and Penny back to the ship, while the cable itself conducts the electricity to power the engines. Hence killing two birds with one stone.

@broknsymetry They could only fly after the lightning charged up the ship systems. That’s why they sailed to where the lightning was.

2) If they had enough cable to lower the chariot, then why not just use the cable to hoist Maureen and Penny back up.
