@vivianleemit-deleted-1429638494 With a bow of deference to Ms. Lee's review of this movie, I have never read the book, so can't comment on the fidelity of this movie to the book.
What I can highlight, however, is the stunning cinematography, the sumptuous location shots, and the craftsmanship it took to make this adaptation. The colors are out of this world (especially if you can watch an HD version), and the CGI, for it's time, was not too bad.
Highly recommend this movie to watch with your daughter, or even son. It will leave them smiling ear to ear when it's all done.

Horribly infidelous to the original novel :( Lots of plotline changed, and characters were not cast according to their descriptions in the book. If you want a feel-good modernized movie, watch this. If you want a faithful and well-acted adaptation of the childhood classic, watch the 1986 version of A Little Princess instead.
