This episode was probably the closest to the first season. It went deeper in exploring the harsh political realities of countries like Venezuela and how little it takes to get arrested and killed for opposing the status quo under a dictatorship which still exists in countries mostly unknown to the average person in the West, now exposed thanks to the show. Some countries like Russia are known but most people would have a hard time picturing that they are ruled in the exact same ways.

I liked the scene of the prisoners implying that nobody would even come for them without the American being among them. The scene of Greer praying as a Muslim was also a strong message reminiscent of the first season, best explained by the season itself.
