[7.3/10] This is a fun one, and a particularly nice follow-up to “Spin the Choice” in terms of the ongoing hints and stories about Joseph’s parentage. I like the basic setup here, of how Hank feels more equipped to parent Joseph, while Dale feels more equipped to parent Bobby. Then, both sets of fathers and sons find that they’re closer than they think.

For Dale and Joseph, that means that even when they think Joseph was sired by an alien, the two of them realize that what really makes them father and son is the time they spent growing up together. For Hank and Bobby, it means that they’re both used to being the more level-headed counterpart to a manchild of the Gribble variety. (Hank’s line that “those Gribbles are two nuts on the same sundae” is the right blend of sweet and derisive.)

Along the way, there’s a fun alien conspiracy theory for Dale who’s too oblivious to realize what happened with John Redcorn. There’s also a nice use of Of Mice and Men, with some particularly great laughs from Peggy’s involvement in it. Overall, a funny episode with some out there story concepts but some really nice father-son material.
