Easily the worst season with no contest. The story is incredibly disjointed. Instead of having a single major villain for the season they have 3 arcs. This often works pretty well in shows but the problem with this one is that arc 1 was two episodes finishing the previous season with mirror master, arc 2 lasted seven episodes, and arc 3 lasted four, not giving enough time for the villains of those arcs to really be explored beyond an incredibly surface level.
To make matters worse, none of the arcs are connected to each other at all. The events are not related and they have no flow. They switch between arcs by simply having a bunch of garbage filler episodes.
And to top it off, the writing in this season was abysmal. There are several episodes which are meant to be integral to the plot where my best description of events of those episodes is "stuff happens" because there is so little sense, reason or explanation for why it's happening. It's just stuff happening while we're told it's important.
It doesn't help that they decided to air this season at the same time as Batwoman season 2 (which was actually good, a huge improvement) and Superman and Lois which is absolutely phenomenal. CW didn't just make a bad season, they also gave it direct comparisons to highlight just how bad it was.
