@snydez Not on Federation worlds. While the Feds don't have a monetary system in place anymore, other worlds still do. Star bases such as Federation (deep) space stations may have shop areas similar to those on airports (duty-free store zone) for visitors. The currency and single monetary unit they employ is the Federation credit and the further into the future you go, the less it is being used.
