Pros: Buffy-bot ; Giles and Buffy-bot; Giles and Dawn; special FX

Cons: mostly everything else

Probably the weakest season opener, in a show with really strong openers and closers. I still don't believe Willow being Miss Serious Boss Witch. There was sparse development ever showing her actually growing as a witch. Previous seasons of Buffy just showed her being out of her depth and fumbling through things, helping Giles research, and being a part of the team, contributing her part. She's a shy, awkward research assistant, and minor computer hacker, who, out of nowhere, her boring girlfriend says "she's so powerful" in a copypasta line in serveral episodes, and boom, she just switches personalities scene to scene, and spouts nonsense Wicca stuff that Anthony Head could pull off when there was distance from actual real world mysticism, but the lines they give to Hannigan and Benson are just eye roll inducing. And there was never anything to suggest she had leadership ability, which Hannigan isn't at all convincing in trying to force Willow into the spontaneously different character the writers want her to (sometimes) be now. Show, don't tell. Angel leaving broke this show.

I figured I had to watch this since it leads into Angel, which I do plan to finish.
