Less of a continuation and more of a reboot, Omen IV: The Awakening is extraordinarily bad. The plot is pretty much the same as the first film with some switching of gender roles; a congressman and his wife adapt a daughter, but when she exhibits some strange behaviors the wife grows concerned and hires a P.I. to investigate. Most of the changes are terrible, especially the replacing of biblical prophecy with New Age spiritualism. But even more atrocious is the score, which is more comedic than frightening. Omen IV: The Awakening is a horribly misconceived film and an embarrassment to the franchise.
