I have some concerns about the Tanya plot line, but at this point I think I have to trust Mike White because he's almost always ended up addressing my previous worries quite directly. But apart from that and some slightly on-the-nose dialogue right at the end (it's extremely rare that White's writing feels plot-only so I'll excuse him this couple of minutes) this episode was basically all I could want from an hour of serialised viewing. Honestly this episode in particular and season in general has more emotional depth than 99% of the films I've watched in the last ten years so really how important is it to even distinguish between films and series in terms of critical hierarchy? (Pro tip: Not very.)
