The Witcher: Blood Origin 2022

Perhaps being into history made me appreciate a prequel more but I personally found the series very well done, tying up all loose ends as well as tying into the origin of the first Witcher. I personally found this creation theory pretty entertaining.

I think early on a lot of the plot was pretty predictable and the characters caricatures more than fleshed out characters but I still got caught by surprise a few times- enough of an impact and substance that I think it deserves a chance for anyone interested in how the Witcher world even came to be in the first place. But I see why everyone found the plot/character so cringe when they're both superlative caricatures and at times predictable plot twists. I think the main issue probably is compared to the original Netflix series, none of the heroes were likable enough for the viewers to grown fond of them.

The last minute or so dropped enough easter eggs for those familiar with the game lore and probably the book (as I haven't read them yet), that tied into the Witcher lore I think the series is worth watching. But on it's as a stand-alone to someone not familiar with the world or covered in the series yet- it doesn't stand up to close scrutiny.
