I've been trying to nail down why this film did nothing for me. The pompous artsy style, the in your face jazz drum line, the fact that nearly every laugh was featured in the trailer, the overuse of overlong handheld following shots, yes I know its one single shot the entire movie, but why, a fantastic technical achievement, but why, ... It really comes down to, there is not a single likable character. Who the hell am I supposed to be rooting for? Don't get me wrong, this is some of the best acting I've seen in a while, and from everyone involved but the characters themselves are detestable and I find myself without a horse in the race.

It really comes down to, there is not a single likable character. Who the hell am I supposed to be rooting for?
