Wowsers. What if Tim Burton cowrote and directed The X-Files when he was on a roll, along with some input from David Lynch while he was directing Twin Peaks? Had it not been for the fact that this episode centered around a serial r*pist who everyone cheered on at the end, this would rank among the most entertaining of episodes.

The cast, music, cinematography, and pretty much everything were on point. What an odd mix of a Pee Wee Herman-esque adult skewed fable mixed with something wholly unsavory. Oh, and scored by Danny Elfman's cousin.

If it weren't for that little pesky r*ping that they attempted to gloss over. Shame this wasn't worked around, although the writers did have all the characters seemingly not mind. Why was this marred in such a fashion? As the Goblin King once said, "What a pity." I wish I could've rated this higher, but due to a specific awful plot point no one appeared to object to, I lowered the rating - and am wondering if another star should be knocked off. Way to ruin what would've been one of the best episodes.
