This was a movie that I’ve heard about for years but never wasted the time to watch it, because I thought I was some sleazy 80’s chick flick, but now that my wife and I are watching movies from the 80’s, I’m so glad we checked this one out. Definitely a classic!
Anthony Michael Hall is the only good thing about this movie.
John Hughes Doing What He Does Best: Teen Comedies
Wow, how was this ever thought to be okay, with the racism, and the period jokes, and oh yeah the date rape is cool storyline
Hey there Sweetie...I'm just doin my duty...blow 16 candles and gimme some booty
I can't believe these 'muricans giving good score to this movie.
Is awful, boring and nowadays is so RACIST and SEXIST that this movie wouldn't even exist.
Didn't really expect to love this film cause it ain't my typical watch but what can I say John Hughes knows how to make a high school coming of age film.
I hope it wasn't blockbuster in 80'ties... ;>
Still a fun teen/high school movie. A lot more over-the-top than I remember. This one probably cannot be viewed by modern audiences though, without having a conniption fit.
A really nice old-fashioned teen comedy with an adorable Molly Ringwald and a funny Anthony Michael Hall.
Surprisingly, considering I used to be a big John Hughes fan, I completely bypassed this movie. It's not one of his best, but for a child of the 80's like me, it still left a nostalgic glow. Still, it doesn't hold a candle (or 16) to the best Hughes movie of them all, The Breakfast Club.
It's a nice movie. Molly Ringwald and Anthony Michael Hall were both good. There are some funny moments and John Hughes definitely has a style. You just have to look past some of the situations that aren't politically correct now. Plus they had a fully naked women in this and its only rated pg, that wouldn't fly today.
Still makes me laugh all these years. Great to see with an audience. 9/10
If this were released today, it would probably be rated R
young people these days. they dont even dream what they missed... =) 80´s / 90´s were so amazing...
"They f****** forgot my birthday."

Written and directed by John Hughes, another classic teen movie of the 80's, which inspired others that came after it.
