Loved it loved it loved it loved it. Oh, and did I say that I loved it? This is yet another brilliant movie from Marvel and a fitting follow-on from the events of Endgame. Funny, action packed, and a little emotional, this will bring a smile to any Spidey fan's face. Holland is great, Gyllenhaul is mysterious and the rest of the cast excel too (can somebody please give Martin Starr's character his own movie?)
Stick around for the mid-credits for an unexpected cameo.
Great!I like it very much!
The most I have smiled in any Marvel movie. So many things to grin stupidly about.
I just watched it, I think it didn't hit right because I already know what the plot for the third movie is but it was still a fun watch
If you had watched the spider-man cartoon during your childhood you are going to enjoy it ,specially Mysterio and his illusions.
The story was really boring and it was funny how Peter and Nick Fury acted so immaturely.
Also it will not live to many people's expectations because it was not an Avenger movie.
There are not even enough words available to describe how terrible this was
complete fecking shite! leave it on in the background for some white noise. unworthy
"Come on, Peter-tingle." Oh, man. What a fun, fun movie. First off, those two teacher chaperones need their own series when Marvel and Disney get that streaming service up and running because those two guys are awesome. Second, the Zendaya haters need to get over it because she continues to be an adorable MJ. As for the bigger picture, the story is great and the plot twists are terrific; the pacing is excellent; and the acting is solid from top to bottom. This is a thoroughly enjoyable movie that is also so very wholesome without coming across as something that someone's grandmother wrote. Well done, Marvel and Disney. This is how to make a fun and entertaining movie for both kids and kids at heart.
Sorry, but this was a dumb tween movie. MCU writers on holiday here?
Very disappointing movie, to childish to enjoy, to many dumb decisions.
The funniest MCU movie so far and that entire illusion scene was so goddamn impressive and beautiful.
Is this a Disney production???
The worst Spider-Man movie.. In my opinion.
The movie felt kind of...I don't know...childish? After how epic Endgame was, it just doesn't feel like it lives up to it's predecessors.
I really liked Mysterio and had high hopes for him but I was kind of let down since I believe they could have made better use of him. The illusion fight with Spider-Man was pretty cool though.
I definitely need to watch it again and see if I might change my mind.
I love Spiderman and this film is a great example of why. Even in the most action-packed scenes they always make room for plenty of comedy. As much as everyone loves Tobey, Tom Holland has earned his crown as the best Spiderman. (In my humble opinion.)
3 Thoughts After Watching ‘Spider-Man: Far From Home’:
It was a fun superhero film, but I’m on the fence on how I feel about it. Something was off. I don’t know if it’s because something was missing, or if it was too much more of the same.
Jake Gyllenhaal made for a good villain. He was definitely a highlight for me. AND it was GREAT to see J.K. Simmons back as J. Jonah Jameson!
Long Thought: Nothing has ever felt quite right to me about this particular Spider-Man series. Tom Holland is great and the character is fantastic when paired with The Avengers. But as standalone films, they’ll always stand in the shadow of Tobey Maguire’s Spidey. So much more depth. Iconic scenes (aka the “upside-down kiss”). I felt more emotionally-invested in the older, more heartfelt Aunt May. I’m not digging such an emo MJ. I dunno. I can’t help but to compare.
That final scene with Spidey swinging along with MJ kinda sums my feelings up. It was fun but shaky, a little uncomfortable, and - when they finally landed - nobody around them batted an eye. The impact was just “meh.”
No Stan Lee cameo had me sad
It's pretty bad. The longest scene was 30 seconds or so, cuts are just too quick, it's made for people with a really short attention span.
There's no character development. Plus the danger with actors this age is that it might turn into a lame coming of age flick, which they've managed to avoid but not in a good way.
The acting is okay but the script is dumb af, it's almost nothing but action with overused special effects and quick cuts, the plot is duumb and the music orchestra suuuucks
Nah I'm giving it a 5 and that's being generous
Far from home but not in a good way
I had better expectations than this childish and dumb decision making movie. Over use of Effects, bad script and nothing to keep you, i few good jokes but i think is one of the worst of the series (even from the first one)
I like Marvel movies, but this was a yawnfest. It didn't manage to pull off a single emotional beat.
What a shit movie. So generic and childish.
I wasted my 2 hours for this stupid, teenager film
"Spider-Man: Far From Home" is your average Marvel Studios summer movie, a lighter note to wash off the bitterness of "Avengers: Endgame".
It tries harder than "Homecoming" but unfortunately fails at being as genuine and fun. The whole field trip section in the first half felt like a Disney Channel drama from the early 2000s, lame humor included (god, that bus scene). However, things start to get into the right mood after the (obvious) plot twist. Gyllenhaal's Mysterio is not the same character as the comics but was unexpectedly spot-on. I hated him as he fought the "Elementals" and acted as the corny superhero from another dimension, but after his true intentions are unveiled it all made sense. He was a fun and charismatic villain, as arrogant and over the top as it takes. The scenes he tricks Spidey with visual effects and shapeshifting were also pretty cool. Too bad it looks like he won't stick around.
is Just a movie for little kids sooo boring
Movie aimed at a clearly youthful audience, with few pretensions to leave a mark on the viewer. A mere entertainment that cannot be treated in any other way. There are many holes in the script.
The movie is OK. I am just very disappointed because I can only recommend it to teenagers.
Better than Homecoming by a mile. Loved the illusions. However, I felt sorta bored in the first hour of the movie until things started to happen with Mysterio. Otherwise, it's a fun movie to watch. Not the best but not the worst either.
Its not good but not bad
Very weak movie plot, ruined by over egging the computer effects, some location sets were so false to be distracting, felt more like a Saturday morning 30 minute cartoon.
Obviously aimed at the young teenage market as this was just rubbish.
You know the way DC movies tend to get a bad rap by comparison to Marvel? (mostly deserved). Well it was down there with the original rubbish Green Lantern with just how bad this was.
Good to waste a couple of hours and mildly entertaining but don't expect something special. Worst new Spidey movie yet. Slow clap.
50 | This sequel is weaker than Spider-Man: Homecoming. It has an uninteresting one-dimensional villain. Every fight scene in this film didn't have a worrying threat because of how they presented. The good parts are it still has a couple of funny moments that lighten up the film. Even though sometimes that also weakens the story itself. That's the MCU problem in general, they are on purpose harming the dark side of the story to keep the audiences entertained. Well, it is both a smart and dumb decision. Anyways, in addition, the actress who played Betty is not good enough. Sorry to say that.

First 5 minutes was just noise and an incoherent mess trying to be funny but falling flat. Switched off.
Catching up on MCU flicks I haven't checked out yet. I've never been all that into Spider-Man, but Tom Holland plays the character so perfectly it's hard not to be drawn into his version of the character. I love Zendaya as MJ as well, while Jake Gyllenhaal does well enough as the villain. The story seems a bit too convenient throughout, however, and Maria Hill & Fury's characterization seems annoyingly off throughout (they explain this in a post-credits sequence, but by that point it feels like a mini-retcon of what you just watched). This is still a pretty fun watch, but it had more flaws that annoyed me than I would have expected.
So these are the strongest standalone of the whole MCU - and probably stronger than 2 or 3 of the Avengers ensemble films. Tom Holland has the character down perfectly and this version of PP & MJ is by far the best.
Fantastic fun.
The villain and the whole setup - clever, it provides for massive set pieces but I can't say I'm a huge fan as it felt a little contrived.
The real story is the remnants of Tony Stark's passing and the impact on Peter, which was handled well for the most part. "Even Dead I'm The Hero" :D
The Happy/Aunt May romance was a nice touch. The teachers and the school trip was hilarious. And a nice view of pre-COVID globetrotting.
Having worked in the Tower Bridge area of London for a long time, the last third was a visual treat.
Can't wait to see the third instalment.
8/10
The one good thing about Marvel movies in this pandemic is that their budgets certainly make the world's cities look pretty. These movies are travelogues before anything else for me.
Without Michael Keaton to save it, this film was instead rescued by the wonderfully unsettling tech-nightmare scenes. Everything else was the same as every other Marvel travelogue.
so cute spider man spider man
The part of this movie that is "the twist" is so random. It was hard to buy into because of that.
The illusion sequence fight between Spider-Man and the villian was good animation, but very confusing. I just had to look at the screen and accept whatever I was being shown.
I like Tom Holland as Spider-Man, but the movies with Tobey were more meaningful. This felt like a child's movie thrown together at the last minute.
Zendaya doesn't do anything but act nonchalant. The Kirsten Dunst Mary Jane was at least a full character.
Now this is an Avengers level movie (screw Endgame, this is the best MCU movie of 2019)
How do I even watch the movie
7 - Good
Tom Holland is great is this movie, you really get the goofy teenager vibe off of him which is what Spiderman is supposed to be.
The plot is meh and kind breaks sometimes but the end credits have gotten me so excited about the MCU I haven't been since captain America the winter soldier...
what with the high rating? i can't believe it man ! i dozzed of when they were fighting in London....1/10
Also, that post credit scene (almost) ruined the movie for me. Gonna be honest... That almost stole the impact from the movie alone. Either way 6/10
Awesome visuals and story. Mysterios illusion scene was one of the Best cgi ive ever seen! Marvel did it again. 100% the Best spiderman movie adaptation. Plus the J. Jonah Jameson cameo was golden.
I can't deal with the puberal Spiderman.
Where Homecoming very clearly suffered from trying to figure out what it was supposed to be in the established MCU continuity and as such an immediate next reboot to the Sam Raimi and Amazing series, Far From Home knows exactly what it wants to be and accomplishes exactly what it sets out to do. Only one momentum-breaking joke in the flick--is Marvel learning? Post-credits scene kind of kills the whole thing, unfortunately. Still, much better than Homecoming. That makes a solid track record as far as I'm concerned with Spider-Man and two-movies. I still wish the studio had just had the balls to create entirely new characters for the supporting cast instead of trying to convince us that these are supposed to be the familiar faces we love--I think Peter's new friends and adversaries are strong enough to have made that work.
Well this film has made me like Tom Holland, he makes a great Spider-Man, still love my Tobey but I accept him in the role and the film lives up to his acting and it was so much better than his first with lots more action and the comedy was on level.. loved the effects... also great work from Jake Gallagher XD
The best scene of the whole movie was Spider-Man dropping MJ in mid-air! That was quite certainly the most hilarious ending of any of the MCU movies, so far!
I had a lot of fun with this one, more than with Homecoming (though both had way too much Tony Stark, I'm still waiting for a new Spider-Man movie about Spider-Man), but, in the end, I couldn't shake off the feeling that I was watching a movie for kids, it has that Sunday-afternoon-movie-to-watch-with-your-whole-family vibe. It lacks that feeling of larger-than-life, which is typical of Marvel movies, with a hint of darkness and maturity, and the storytelling isn't up to par with Sam Raimi's vision of Spider-Man.
Good movie, I enjoy Tom Holland as Peter Parker/Spider-Man, but I'm still not a fan of this Spider-Man reboot... Third time's the charm?
Finally Mysterio gets some justice. This is what I would've loved to have seen in the video game.
Absolutely fantastic movie. Great plot and excellent production. Tom Holland excels.
I enjoyed it. Tom Holland continues to bring a freshness and boyhood charm to this incarnation of Spider-man (that belies his age) and his transformation from Brit to New Yorker is flawless. Love the innocence and humour of the high school drama as it is juxtaposed against the save-the-world, perilous, big CGI action. Good writing. Great cast. Great character bits (Fury and Hill, May and Happy). I'm not a big fan of Jake Gyllenhall. I always feel his performances are wooden and his delivery of dialogue unnatural, which may have aided his character, in this case. Don't forget to stay for the mid credit and end credit scenes (phase 4 of Mavel pictures is promising). I give this film a 7.5 (entertaining) out of 10. [Super Hero Action Adventure]
What a time to be Spider-Man fan! First into the spider verse and now this. Loved the adaptation of mysterio.
Another super hero film to be enjoyed by children and in which will make this film totally successful. If your teenage years are behind you, go watch something for adults!
Grab some popcorn and or nachos, sit back relax and enjoy the ride!
Not quite as charming as homecoming but still a super fun movie. Tom Holland is the perfect Spider-Man. He has a great arc with all the recent events of the MCU. Jake Gyllenhaal plays a great Mysterio. The effects look fantastic. Lots of good humor and action. Not as much high school drama but there still is some. I'm looking forward to seeing more of Spider-Man in the MCU with the mid credit stinger.
I don't know why the "super-hero-movie" formula dictates that such a movie must be over 2 hours long. Maybe 1 hour of build-up and then an hour of the action? At least that's what they seem to have done here. The first hour was a boring tween drama that could have been compressed into 20 minutes. After 1 hour and a few minutes, this movie picks up the pace and becomes enjoyable.
Awesome movie and better than Homecoming in my opinion. We definitely needed this casual and fun movie after Endgame.
spiderman destroys national monuments 2
Once again, a great punchy epic spiderman movie. Just felt disconnected again. It must be the style of filming I don't like or prefer as much as the old ones.
mysterio said fuck them kids
Good writing and acting lots of action and visuals
It is a good movie, but unless you know any of the other Marvel movies, you'd feel pretty stranded, as it does not follow from the first Spider-Man, but instead from a different movie entirely... The relationships feels weird, like suddenly Happy and Peter are (friends?), and MJ and Peter likes each other? I know there was a time skip, but purely watching these movies standalone as SM movies, they feel rushed often times and like things just "happen" to make more things "happen". This is not at fault of the actors, as Tom Holland and others do an amazing job, but more at fault of the directors building up from a previous movie that was not SM and building for a next movie (be it SM or not)...
As a standalone SM movie, this gets a 5/10, since those who know nothing about the other non-sm movies and series produced would be very confused and not understand everything that is happening and how it happened.
As a movie part of the MCU, it holds up well, and would probably be a 7/10
The original Spider-Man films were k, but these he is such a dumb nerd, it makes me puke

Hella Yeah
I felt this movie more "childish" than the others but I still enjoyed it.
The opening scene is PERFECT (RIP) and the fight scenes against the drones are amazing!
Tom Holland's Peter Parker/Spider-Man can be better than it is and I think in the next Spider-Man movie he will be more mature and better overall.
Can't wait to see No Way Home!!!!!!!!!

A good end to Phase Three of the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
In short, I like 'Spider-Man: Far from Home'. I do think it's someway off its predecessor, but I still had a suitably fun time watching this. Tom Holland remains top notch in the main role, with Jake Gyllenhaal, Samuel L. Jackson and Zendaya supporting strongly.
The story is a solid one, I like the concept of it; especially with Gyllenhaal's character. Some of the special effects do look a little questionable, but only in relation to how great the effects usually are in the MCU. Compared to an 'average' film, they still look good.
By sheer process of the elimination, it probably is one of my least favourite films from this universe. That's not a negative though, as I very much like it and keenly await the currently unnamed sequel.
The Revisit the MCU Project (2021) #22 of 23
Again...this is not actually a revisit as I didn't see this one at release...because...well...I didn't see the two previous ones at release either so...yeah.
Anyway...I was hoping this one would tie up some of the mess that Endgame left, but well...it didn't. What Spider-Man: Far from Home does is making a decent bridge from one "phase" to another, but that is, sadly, the only thing it is. It's not really that clever and plays more like a teenage road trip rom-com than anything else. The acting was decent enough and the locations were great, but the story is just a half-assed attempt to tie things together. Didn't work for me.
Spider-Man: Far from Home ends up being one of the weaker MCU movies, and I'm not surprised as I didn't expect much either.
I hope Marvel will rethink things for the next phase. These last few movies have not been up to par. Maybe listen a bit more to what the fans want instead of trying to force things they don't want down their throats.
It is an entertaining movie - just like almost any other Spiderman movie. But that's about it.
Very fun and enjoyable movie... specially if you are able to turn your brain off for a couple hours. Otherwise, the plot is ridiculously full of holes, even for a Marvel movie. Maybe not so much on the first watch, but definitely if you rewatch it. Half of the script doesn't make any sense in retrospective.
Still, plot holes and all, I enjoyed it more than most MCU movies. I guess it's Tom Holland's fault.
Watched it in Dbox3D at Cinemark XD. It was great experience! Very comfortable seats.
Actually, the battle is of Spiderman against some drones. And knowing who the bad guy was was very predictable.
As a movie 8
As a MCU movie 8.5
As a Spider-Man movie 7
As a Spider-Man team up movie 8
As a Mysterio movie 9
I love in with a film
Oh gosh! I miss the Avengers! :sob:
I love Tom Holland's take on Spiderman. Oh gosh. Did I say I miss the gang? ugh.
The movie was fun to watch, and whoever said it is terrible is a sad sad human being for not seeing the humor in it. K?
Zendaya as MJ, Jake Gyllenhaal as Mysterio, so good! And Tom Holland as Spider-Man is also really growing me. This might be one of my favorite Spider-Man movies so far. It's so good!
And that's how you properly make a teenage superhero movie. You hearing me, Gotham? :stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye:
Really fun movie. Loved the European element to it. This movie seemed more lighthearted than the previous Spider-Man movies and that suits me fine. All in all it’s a good time.
I love that the Superman movies give you such a real character. Peter Parker just screams awkward teenager and it's hilarious to watch. The mishaps and real crisis he faces. And Misterio is so well done. He really draws you in and has you going. But that post credit ending man! I still get frustrated just thinking about it.
Just such a fun joyful movie. Plus it's the closest thing to a MCU Marvel Zombies adaptation as we're ever likely to get. I loved thr visuals and humor. This movie will make your peter tingle
Acting was fine, story was "meh." Previous Spider-Man solo movie was better, of course "Civil War" was good with his "cameo" but this... It wasnt bad but I expected more.
I liked the movie's special effects in itself (seen on 4K), but the connection between the characters without having seen the other marvel studio movies really gets a bit confusing and even more not having seen the prequel.
My score 7/10.
"A breezily unpredictable blend of teen romance and superhero action."
Best Live Action Spidey Movie In My Opinion
awesome movie, glad they making 3rd part
Finally Mysterio gets the recognition that he deserves.
I was expecting how they were gonna do all of the Mysterio's “tricks" in the movie, and I actually loved it.
This is good film nice
Spider-Man hits the road in Spider-Man: Far From Home. Peter Parker’s European school trip is interrupted when a superhero named Mysterio, who’s from an alternate Earth, shows up and asked for his help to defeat an Elemental. Unfortunately, as the first post-Endgame Marvel film, Far From Home has the extra burden of resetting the Marvel Universe; which comes off as kind of awkward in this story about a high school trip. And while it does some good things with Parker dealing with the loss of his mentor (Tony Stark), there’s too much Iron Man in this Spider-Man movie. A mess from start to finish (though still entertaining), Spider-Man: Far From Home is disappointing both as a MCU film and a Spider-Man film.
Somehow, however, they manage to push the story furrther after all this reset. ;>
im so shocked and confused about that ending tbh. like what's gonna happen now?!!! im just, wow!!
How Can I Watch The Movie? I can't
Excellent. Probably the best spidey movie so far. Fantastic effects. Good story. Well worth a watch.
awsome, done well, follows right along with story
Great Spider-Man movie. It's lighthearted and fun. Jake Gyllenhaal stole the show but all the characters get a moment to shine. Not as good as Endgame, but a fun romp through Europe that's perhaps the most adventurous and unique Spider-Man film made thus far.
Tom continues to be incredibly likable as Spider-Man, and dare I say hella charismatic this time around. I was kind of 'meh' about Jake's performance at first but I started to enjoy him after he flipped. Though I wish he would've been more psychotic. The humor, soundtrack, AUNT MAY, and all the other characters are still as awesome as ever. Loved it. Loved it. Loved it.
The only problem I had with it was Zendaya is always acting like she's got a hangover or something. IDK if it's a character choice or if it's just how she is. Every time she's on screen the energy of the movie shifts to a less exciting place.
This movie is the best spiderman movie (but I don't add this list animations) I love Tom Holland acting spiderman. He is si cut (Both Tom Holland and spiderman ) . And I can say you must watch this movie if you like spiderman
I loved this. The plot was almost perfect and the CGI was on point. However, what I really loved was J. K. Simmons' cameo and the post-credits scenes. All in all, I think this was a great movie for the new Marvel era to begin with :)
I liked it a lot, I've laughed a lot. Great Spiderman. That struggle between responsibility and I am a teenager who wants to do adolescent things. And to think that there are people who will see it without having seen Avengers Endgame (insult)
Saw it today and couldn't stop laughing, a fresh and funny summer movie :)
I'll give it a 9/10 for a chill movie and a lot of fun
Something about MJ standing firm, wielding that mace, seems worthy of an approving I-like-this-one look from Thor.

UGH this movie makes me miss Iron Man.
