Criminally underrated, every single bit is interesting even though you know 90% of what happens from watching the show. The murder scene is one of the most well directed things I have ever seen.

Not amazing as the TV show but it's a masterpiece in it's own way.

"And for a long time you wouldn't feel anything and then, you'd burst into fire... forever. And the angels wouldn't help you, because they've all gone away." PALMER, Laura. ♥

I guess you could say Donna practically became a new person after Laura's death.

this movie was everything i could've hoped for it to be. it presented laura as so much more of a human being, gave her a depth that truly adds volumes to her character. her scene with harold stands out to me, has me finding myself looking at him much more sympathetically than i had previously. it shifts the tone of his scenes, explains the way he acts, his protectiveness of lauras diary. the film also helps to paint leeland in a more tragic light, though his tragedy had never been thinly veiled. the meeting of man and monster, the supernatural metaphors for abuse, the man trapped forced to endure the things he is doing to someone he loves. twin peaks has always been an incredible series, but this film elevates things greatly. the focus on laura as a person rather than a plot device is monumental, and lynch really gets to bring his vision to life in an incredible way. i don't understand everything, but feelings are invoked and that is whats crucial. incredible.

Laura Palmer:

The girl of great mystery, turns out to be one big misery. Sweet and pure, but deeply broken. You fall in love with Laura just like the town and why her death was a painful tragedy.

David Lynch can hit my emotions like no other. This guy is a master.

If you want to understand the movie, you have to watch the first 2 TV series and then this movie. After this movie, you can watch the 3rd season.

Well that was a 'sick' experience...

After binge watching the first two seasons and not going crazy for them, I thought this was pretty decent. It's a lot darker and not as soap operay. It's interesting to see the decent of Laura Palmer after seeing and knowing what happened. The focus on Laura and Leland's relationship make this creepy and uneasy. Definitely needs to be watched in the Twin Peaks cannon.

Now onto season 3. I hope I like that better than the first two seasons.

Show especially in second season had too much campy feel to it, movie on other hand is gritty, dark and extremely unnerving although not as polished if only considered as standalone movie, it's one of a kind feature film revolving around twin peaks.
