Zelig 1983

In Zelig, Woody Allen plays Leonard Zelig a man that transforms himself into anyone that gets close to him, because of that they call him the chameleon. Afterall, he is just an insecure man that wants to be accepted by everyone. This story is very clever and it's presented to us in mockumentary style, mixing real footage with fiction situations. The editing, the sound and the effects used are amazing!

Very unique stuff! I bet this was very innovative at the time the film was made.

The concept was simple - the movie was a 20's-style black-and-white film about a man that morphs into whoever he was with. Had it been a 15 minute short it might have worked. As it was, it was an 84 minute film that played like it was 180 minutes long. There were some funny moments but overall it just didn't work for me.
