I love how Palmer is all like "ok Jack, time to commit more crimes" and Jack's like "yep!" This time, it's an act of war! Yay! Also hilarious how Tony accepts the role without question. He's a seasoned pro at committing treason by now.

Jack chose what a "good" soldier would destroying the normal life he worked so hard to rebuild in the process.
Like Jack said to Chase last season, you can't have both ways. You either commit to the job or you commit to the people you love, and if you try doing both you'll end up not only hurting the ones you love, but yourself too.
Jack tried to do both for 1 day which results in hurting and losing the person he loves.
I'll give it to the creators.... they are successful in toying with our feelings.
