Valentina Villalba is a successful executive who was orphaned at the age of six and inherited a large fortune. She was raised by her aunt Isabel, who loves her like a daughter. But, unfortunately, Valentina has a cousin, Ivana, who everyone envies her.

Alonso tells Valentina that they must cancel their wedding because he needs to finalize the purchase of a building, but he was expecting a loan that they will give him in three weeks, as well as a guarantee. Valentina decides to lend her the money.

Doña Isabel, hurt, tells Ivana that she knows that she has an understanding with Alonso and that Valentina is going to find out. Ivana, crying hypocritically, replies that it was Alonso who kissed her, that he loves Valentina like a sister and that he would be incapable of hurting her.

Valentina models her wedding dress. Meanwhile, Ivana cries as she remembers that Alonso does not want to see her again. Felipe annoyed tells Alonso that he is not as good a friend as he thought, that he sent him to Valentina's house so that he would not discover that he was with Ivana.

Valentina reads the note that Ivana wrote, where she says that she is ashamed because she betrayed the people she loves for a man who is not worth it. Benita asks him if he knows who that man is.

Valentina informs Doña Isabel that the lawyer Galeana will visit the house frequently, since he will have to deal with Alonso about the administration of the assets that they will share, since they will marry for joint assets.

Ivana tells Alonso that he doesn't have to marry Valentina if they're not going to get anything out of it. Instead, in the safe there are many centenarians, dollars and jewelry that he will gladly take for the two of them and they could escape on his wedding day with Valentina.

Narda asks Alonso to tell her if he knows who the woman is with whom Óscar is cheating on her, she shows him a note from a flower shop and tells him that it is his girlfriend's address and she doesn't know if anyone else lives there. Alonso is surprised.

Furious, Doña Isabel demands an explanation from Ivana about the rude way of treating Galeana, but Ivana, crying, replies that she can't stand that everyone is happy and she isn't, that she can't stand that Valentina marries Alonso.

Ivana murders Óscar to prevent Valentina from finding out about her betrayal with Alonso. To have an alibi, she looks for Felipe and makes him believe that she is sorry for having treated him badly and tells him that she wants to give him a chance.

Ivana, with her usual hypocrisy, tells Benita that she can't imagine all she has to do to hide her pain. Don Ernesto confesses to Father Justino that he has been in love with Doña Isabel for many years.

Valentina shows Alonso the photo of Santiaguito and asks him who he is. Alonso replies that he is the son of her cousin, that they do not see each other, but that he supports her financially and, in gratitude, she sent him a photo of the child.

Margarita tells Commander Toledo that, hours before Óscar Ampudia died, she heard him argue loudly with Alonso, who threatened him with death. Alonso confesses to Valentina all his mistakes and lies.

Alonso manages to evade Nero and, instead of heading to the church, heads to the airport. Ivana is also at the airport waiting for Alonso. In the church, Valentina, increasingly distressed, tells Doña Isabel that she has a premonition.

Ivana tries to talk to Valentina, but she doesn't answer. Doña Isabel tells Ivana that Valentina is surely in tears. But Ivana replies that her cousin has not shed a single tear and that she is changed, as if she were another person.

As Rosendo is incredulous that Valentina is the owner of the hacienda, she tells him that he can fire him at that moment and warns him that she does not want any employee to live in her house.

Doña Isabel tells Ivana that Valentina needs them and that they should go to the hacienda to keep her company. Ivana replies that Valentina wants to be pitied and that she won't play along. But Doña Isabel tells Ivana that she and Benita are going to the hacienda.

Ivana tells Rosendo that she knows that Valentina came to turn his life upside down and that she also wants her cousin to return to Mexico. Insinuating, he tells her that he has a very special way of thanking the favors they do for him.

Furious, Valentina complains to Rosendo for having burned Juan's shack. But he argues that he just wanted to make sure he carried out his orders. But Valentina replies that she never ordered such a savagery and orders her to give her settlement to Juan.

Valentina tells Ivana that a certain Sandra insulted her and slapped her, accusing her of wanting to take away her boyfriend Horacio. But the one who was with Horacio is Ivana, so she has half an hour to go and mess with whoever she wants.

José Miguel tries to soften Valentina's hostile attitude by taking the situation as a joke. But Valentina continues with her sharp attitude and warns him not to carry her again and not to treat her either, although much to her regret she thanks him for his help.

Rosendo harasses Iluminada, tells her that she feels supported by the viper but that it will end, since she will return to the capital very soon. Nazario surprises him and warns him that he already has his mother, to leave Iluminada alone.

Ivana demands her mom to tell her who is the man who occupies her mind and her heart. As Doña Isabel does not respond, she tells him that this man must be Ernesto Galeana and that they must have been lovers since his father was alive.

Annoyed, Valentina tells Doña Isabel that she had already ordered that José Miguel not be allowed to enter the hacienda, since he is an opportunist and maintained. Doña Isabel replies that, in that case, have an electrified fence installed.

Doña Leonor makes recriminations to Don Federico about the unfortunate state of the Montesinos hacienda. Don Federico tries to comfort her by telling her that little by little the repairs will be made.

Valentina is surprised to see Nazario's body and runs out of the stables. Frightened, she tells Isabel and Benita that Nazario is dead and is having a nervous breakdown. Valentina sends for Rosendo and asks him what could have happened.

José Miguel offers to go to the health center for Nazario's autopsy report and, upon reviewing it, tells Felipe that he did not specify that he died from being kicked by the horse. Will he believe that Valentina was capable of killing him?

Rosendo tells José Miguel that everything related to Valentina Villalba interests him and that he doesn't want her to get close to him. José Miguel replies that he is not interested in hearing threats. But Rosendo turns him around, asking if he's not interested in knowing who his real father is either.

Valentina is upset because Ivana went out with José Miguel, she feels that she does not teach a lesson. Meanwhile, Benita tells him that the fall from the horse was an accident and that José Miguel has been very good to her.

Benita tells Valentina that if the only thing left for her is to survive, to do so with dignity, even if it is for her parents, who were very loved and respected, while she is destroying that memory.

Rosendo tells Valentina that Montesinos is stealing from the peons and decides to go and put a stop to it. Meanwhile, Sandra is sad because she fought with Horacio. Isabel is annoyed to hear Benita speak ill of Ivana and gives her a warning.

Doña Isabel tells Valentina that Alonso kissed her by force, but Ivana believes that even if she had told her, she would not believe her, because she was blind with love. However, Valentina considers that her obligation was to tell him.

Don Moisés, manager of the bank, tells José Miguel that if he decided to sell part of his farm, surely Valentina would be interested in buying. But José Miguel replies that his farm is not for sale, but that he would accept any offer from Valentina.

Tearful Valentina swears to charge José Miguel dearly for the humiliation he did to her. Filadelfo tells Rosendo about the incident between Valentina and José Miguel, then a furious Rosendo tells him that he should have defended her.

Valentina kisses José Miguel and he very happily tells her that in this way anyone clings to life and that he is not going to die. Valentina, somewhat annoyed, asks him if he pretended that he was on the verge of death so that she would kiss him.

The trustee tries to question José Miguel, but Father Ventura warns him that he is very ill. Leonor, as the mother of José Miguel, formally accuses Valentina of trying to murder her son, but Librado asks her how she is sure of something like that.

Benita tells Iluminada that, as long as she looks good with Doña Leonor, Ivana is capable of keeping José Miguel awake. Furious, Doña Isabel tells her that she is tired of hearing her speak ill of her daughter.

Valentina, seeing the beautiful lagoon, goes swimming and Rosendo spies on her. Annoyed Horacio tells Ivana that he never has time for him, that everything is more important than their relationship, but Ivana hypocritically replies that she does care.

Rosendo tells Filadelfo that women are not worth suffering for. But Valentina is something apart: like a star that can be seen, but never touched.

José Miguel tells Felipe that his duty is to tell Valentina everything, but the doctor replies that it is already part of the past and that he does not want to continue to feed grudges. In addition, Felipe warns José Miguel that Ivana is very clever and that she can confuse him.

Doña Isabel tells Valentina that she feels confused and is going to think about Galeana's proposal. Ivana arrives at Doña Leonor's house and, very effusive, greets and tries to kiss Chuy, but the boy rejects her.

Valentina tells Benita that she is afraid of falling in love with José Miguel because the idea of ​​suffering scares her and, furthermore, Ivana is in love with him. But Benita replies that it would be necessary to see what José Miguel's feelings are and if he is interested in her.

Valentina visits José Miguel's cabin and meets Chuy; The boy tells her that his boss loves her very much, that he hasn't told her but he looks at her differently from everyone else. Filadelfo tells Rosendo that José Miguel visited Valentina.

Ivana tells Rosendo that she likes José Miguel, as much as he likes Valentina. And although Rosendo thinks that Valentina will never be with him as she would like, she does not intend to leave the way to José Miguel.

Doña Leonor tells Ivana that she has already spoken with José Miguel and is sure that he no longer thinks ill of her. So now it's Ivana's turn to do her thing; Leonor considers that she is the ideal woman for her son.

José Miguel watches Valentina from afar while she swims in the river. Galeana tells Doña Isabel that Federico appreciates her very much and realizes that the feeling is mutual.

Tearfully, Iluminada warns Rosendo that if he rapes her, she should tell Valentina, but he replies that if she says anything, her mother could suffer an accident like the one that cost Nazario her life.

José Miguel reproaches his mother for having mortgaged his part of the farm and asks her what she spent the money on. Leonor replies that she used it to pay for her father's treatment and that, furthermore, her economic situation has been very critical for some time.

Doña Leonor tells José Miguel that she feels that he hates her. but she just wants him to understand that everything he has done is for his own good, because she loves him more than her life. José Miguel replies that he doesn't hate her, he just doesn't agree with some things.

Doña Isabel confesses to Ivana her courtship with Don Federico. But Ivana, instead of admiring her mother, has a higher regard for Doña Leonor.

Furious, José Miguel tells Valentina that, although he did not invite him to his project, he is going to participate because he thinks it is very noble, but he is tired of her arrogance and bad manners. Rosendo cowardly hits Crisanta until she loses the baby.

Don Federico thinks that José Miguel should know what is happening. But Doña Leonor tells her son not to listen to what his father says, because he is furious with her and is going to make things up. But José Miguel wants to hear it.

Enriqueta, concerned about Sandra's lateness, tells Moses to go look for her. But Moisés refuses, claiming that if something had happened to his daughter, they would already know. Felipe suggests to Sandra that she should study for a university degree.

Iluminada tells Valentina that a certain Alonso Peñalver is looking for her, Ivana comments that she hung up on him, because she said she doesn't want to know anything about him. But Valentina tells Iluminada that, if she calls again, she should pass it on to Galeana.

Horacio is hurt because his relationship with Ivana ended, but nevertheless, he assures that he could not see her with another man. José Miguel warns her that last week Ivana went to see him and made a pass at him, but he is not interested in her, since he loves Valentina.

Ivana tells her mother that she will not allow Valentina to take José Miguel away from her. Valentina arrives happy and Galeana points this out to Benita. What will have her in such a good mood?

Leonor tells don Federico that it is the first time she has heard him speak in that way and he replies that for defending his son he is capable of anything. José Miguel tells Valentina that he thinks she trusts Rosendo too much.

Sandra confesses to her father that on one occasion she insulted Valentina thinking that she was after Horacio and that Felipe suggested she apologize. Enriqueta, who is listening behind the door, tells Sandra that she doesn't have to lower herself.

Sarcastic Ivana tells Valentina that she hopes she opens her eyes wide this time, because she already knows the consequences of making a mistake. Doña Leonor comments to José Miguel that perhaps Rosendo and Valentina are not lovers.

Valentina asks Crisanto to accept the job, to do it for Iluminada, since she doesn't have to bear his expenses. Iluminada tells her mother that one thing is for Rosendo to be after Valentina and another for her to pay attention to him.

Doña Leonor tells Ivana that what Enriqueta told her about José Miguel is a lie, that he was never a priest and that the alleged woman with whom he had a relationship does not exist.

Valentina tells Ivana that she can go tell José Miguel that Alonso wrote to her, but she warns her that nothing she says can separate them. Intrigued, Gabriela asks him why he said that.

When Ivana finds out about Valentina and José Miguel's wedding, she gets furious. Smiling, Benita tells Valentina that she is very pleased with the news, that the sooner she gets married, the better, and that Ivana will have to settle.

Gabriela tells Doña Isabel that Ivana was kissing Rosendo. But Ivana denies her and tells her mother not to believe Gabriela's gossip.

Ivana tries to convince her mother not to be present at Valentina's marriage proposal, according to her out of solidarity. But Doña Isabel replies that she is no longer sure of what her daughter feels, because she has had everything to be happy.

Valentina tells José Miguel that she would like to know exactly why he was kicked out of the seminary, that he knows it was because of a woman... José Miguel replies that that woman is called Arcelia Olivares.

Gabriela tells Valentina that Ivana's toast to her happiness was false, that she was dying of jealousy and that she is a hypocrite. Valentina confesses that she also doubts his supposed change.

José Miguel and Valentina introduce Gabriela to Horacio and it turns out that they already knew each other due to an unpleasant incident they had. Father Ventura tells Felipe that he suspects that he had a fight with his girlfriend and Felipe agrees with him.

Felipe looks for Sandra, but Don Moisés makes it clear that she does not want to see him. Don Moisés assures Sandra that he doesn't understand why he doesn't want to see Felipe and she replies that she doesn't want to put up with his silly jealousy.

Valentina tells Gabriela that what happened at the dance is somehow her fault, since since she arrived she has done everything possible to make them hate her. José Miguel warns Horacio that Valentina felt humiliated by the joke.

Ivana tells Rosendo that she hopes it has become clear to him that she is willing to do anything to separate José Miguel and Valentina. On the other hand, he recommends taking advantage of the fact that José Miguel will be away for a few days to win over Valentina.

José Miguel and Alonso agree to have dinner together and thus finalize details about the sale of their house. Doña Leonor hypocritically shows Valentina a room and tells her that she will sleep there with José Miguel.

Rosendo tells Filadelfo that he will take advantage of the fact that José Miguel is not there to make Valentina take him down from the pedestal and see him for what he is. Don Moisés tells Felipe that he doesn't like to interfere in his daughter's life.

José Miguel assures Galeana that he has always been honest with Valentina and that he loves her, that he is willing to prove it in any field. Filadelfo tells Rosendo that the boss burned down José Miguel's cabin.

Furious, Doña Leonor insults Doña Isabel and warns her that she will take revenge on what hurts her the most. Don Federico tells Doña Leonor that marrying her was the worst mistake of his life and that he is going to die far from her.

José Miguel is surprised to find Ivana in his bed. But Doña Leonor explains that she had problems with her mother and asked her to let her stay with them.

Ivana makes José Miguel believe that she is convinced that Valentina has gone crazy, she assures him that a few days ago she locked herself in her room to destroy things and said that she only wanted to find a man who would pay her for all the damage Alonso did to her.

Don Federico dying tells Rosendo to kill him, because if he leaves him alive he will make him pay for that humiliation, Rosendo replies not to worry, he will take the secret to his grave and set fire to Sabino's house.

José Miguel, without letting Valentina speak, tells her to leave out of respect for her pain. Upon learning of Don Federico's death, a tearful Don Moisés tells Sandra that he has just lost a great friend.

Sabino tells José Miguel that Ivana heard when Valentina gave Rosendo the order to poison the cattle and that ring is proof that Valentina herself burned down the house with Don Federico inside. But José Miguel refuses to believe it.

The trustee tells Valentina that he wants to ask her some questions about Don Federico's death and she replies that she will accompany him to the receivership so that her willingness to cooperate in the investigation is clear.

Doña Isabel apologizes to Valentina for believing her responsible for Don Federico's death. Valentina orders Rosendo to hire people to tear down the school. José Miguel tells his mother that she forbade him to ask Valentina for money.

Valentina warns Alonso that if he does not leave his house, he will call his people to throw him out. Valentina tells Benita that Alonso says he wants her forgiveness, but she thinks he wants to move her to forget her debt.

Crisanta explains to Iluminada that Rosendo is a dangerous man and is not going to put her at risk, so she is not going to report him. Sandra tells Felipe that she and her dad left their house, but that she felt bad leaving her mom alone and depressed.

Valentina orders Rosendo not to allow Alonso entry to her property. Don Ernesto gives his condolences to José Miguel for the death of his father and tells him that, despite everything accusing Valentina, she is not guilty.

Rosendo tells Leonor that if she wants her to leave her son alone, she should take him away forever. Leonor asks for a little time, but Rosendo warns her that if she doesn't hurry up, José Miguel could go keep his dad company.

José Miguel does not stop laughing when Valentina opens the window of her balcony and runs to Alonso and his mariachis with bullets. Benita tells Valentina that she gave Alonso a good scare.

Furious, Valentina complains to Rosendo that he has not followed her orders to tear down the school, but he replies that he is not inept and that Don Ernesto prevented him.

Ivana tells Alonso that their relationship was only for convenience, since she never really loved him and that she loves José Miguel. Alonso replies that he doesn't know what he sees in José Miguel, since he's a poor devil and she's used to the good life.

Ivana makes Valentina believe that José Miguel does not want to see her again and sends word for her to leave. But Valentina ignores that José Miguel is in the bar with Horacio crying his sorrows.

Doña Leonor intends to commit José Miguel to marry Ivana. Sandra tells Felipe that she's not angry anymore, that if he got jealous it's because he loves her.

Leonor tells José Miguel that he should act responsibly and marry Ivana. How will he react? José Miguel questions Ivana about the man who visited her and she tells him without hesitation that it was Alonso.

Alonso discovers Ivana stealing money from Valentina, but when she is surprised, she tries to seduce him. Sarcastic Alonso makes him notice that he does not believe his justifications.

Alonso insists on clarifying to Valentina the reasons that led him to leave her standing at the altar: situations from the past that he has already clarified. He also acknowledges that he should have made it clear to José Miguel that there is nothing between them.

Furious, Valentina orders Benita to burn José Miguel's shirt and photos... and that way she realizes that the watch that belonged to her father is missing. Ivana ties knives and tells José Miguel that she found out that Rosendo and Alonso got into a fight.

Ivana is surprised to see José Miguel with a suitcase and he explains that he will travel to Mexico to settle matters and clear up ghosts from the past, that only then will he be able to think about the future. Enriqueta complains to Leonor because Sandra is very rebellious.

Doña Leonor tells Ivana that she has to travel to Mexico and prevent José Miguel from selling his house and meeting Arcelia at all costs, since she does not want to lose his trust and the possibility of returning to the city.

Amparo, seeing Felipe pensive, tells him that this could harm his patients and asks him if he is like this because of Sandra. Felipe replies that he is in a dilemma: either he marries Sandra or loses her, and he doesn't want either option.

Benita tells Valentina that she surprised Alonso calmly exercising, which indicates that nothing hurts anymore and she is only pretending to pity him and forgive him so he can continue stealing. A furious Valentina takes out Alonso's belongings.

Arcelia tells José Miguel that she has nothing against him, that she has done everything for money, since she wants to go far away where no one knows her past. By the way, he tells her that the watch that Ivana gave him has not been able to sell it.

Felipe informs the parents of Chuy and Valentina that their son has entered a coma and unfortunately he cannot specify how long he will be like that. Valentina asks the doctor to do whatever it takes regardless of expense: Chuy has to live.

Crisanta gives Iluminada some chocolates and tells her that Rosendo is sending them to her, assuring her that she has changed a lot and that she wants to win her love, so that she sees him as the father she needs so much. Will Iluminada accept Rosendo's gift?

Furious, José Miguel tells Rosendo that he does not even accept him as the foreman of his hacienda as a joke and demands that he leave. But Rosendo replies that he is not the only owner and that his mother hired him.

Leonor authorizes José Miguel to sell his part of the estate. In addition, Leonor tells Rosendo that she needs to see results to justify her presence and that she thinks she was not wrong. José Miguel asks Moisés Macotela to offer his land.

José Miguel tells Sabino that his mother's wickedness has no limits: not satisfied with hiring Arcelia to be kicked out of the seminary, he went back to look for her for the farce of her supposed son. What will Sabino answer?

Alonso tells Brenda that she has become her friend and confidante, that he has learned to value her and that he thanks her for being a good mother to Santiaguito. What will Brenda reply?

Doña Leonor tells Ivana that she has put up with her because of her alleged pregnancy, but no one believes that anymore, so she wants her to leave her house. What will Ivana do?

Sandra tells her mother that she loves her very much but that she still has to live her life, make her own decisions and that she will marry Felipe, continue selling shoes, study nursing, be a good wife and continue to be her daughter.

Valentina and José Miguel kiss. Will they forget everything and start over? Valentina considers that they cannot take life irresponsibly, since Ivana is like her sister.

Leonor surprises Ivana trying to seduce Rosendo and furiously listens when he rejects her, telling her that he loves Valentina and assures her that one day soon she will be his.

Amparo tells Felipe that the judge will come to town and that it is the right time for him to marry Sandra. But Felipe replies that with Chuy in a coma it doesn't seem prudent. What will Amparo answer?

Alonso tells Leonela that he knows she doesn't believe him, but he will show her that he has learned the meaning of being a father and will compensate Santiaguito with love for the years of abandonment. José Miguel informs Sabino that he ran Rosendo.

Ivana assures Valentina and José Miguel that she is going to have a child by him and shows them the tests. Furious, Valentina slaps José Miguel, but he begs her to listen to her version. What will José Miguel do about it?

Rosendo mockingly tells Ivana that she already owes a dead man, but Ivana replies that this is not true, that she is not capable of killing anyone. Rosendo believes that he is capable of anything to get his way.

Commander Toledo tells Narda that going to San Pedro was very productive, as he gathered information about Valentina, who the townspeople say killed one of their employees and was involved in Don Federico's death.

José Miguel demands proof from Rosendo that he is the owner of the Montesinos' lands. But Zamarripa tells him that he is Rosendo's proxy and shows him the deeds. Will José Miguel allow him to keep his land?

Leonor demands that Rosendo open the water gates, but he bluntly replies that he does not receive orders from anyone and since he owns the lagoon, he can do whatever he wants.

Rosendo warns Valentina that now she will know what a man is. But Valentina replies that a man worth his salt does not take a woman by force and tells him that what he is doing to José Miguel is a dirty trick.

Alonso kisses Valentina and is disappointed at not being reciprocated, but tells her that he will know how to wait until she accepts it. What will Valentina answer? Will she ever consider forgiving him?

Doña Isabel tells Commander Toledo that she murdered Óscar Ampudia. José Miguel asks who Óscar is and Valentina tells him that he was Alonso's partner, that he had an affair with Ivana and that someone killed him. Will he distrust his aunt?

Felipe tells Father Ventura that he is worried about the lie he told to protect Ivana and the father replies that the situation got complicated because Doña Isabel pleaded guilty. Will he do something with what he knows or will he keep quiet to keep the confession secret?

Doña Isabel tells Ivana that, when she was with her at the Montesinos farm, she suddenly started talking to Óscar and said that she had killed him. Was he hallucinating? Is she going crazy?

Valentina repeats to Rosendo that she doesn't want anything from him, she proposes that he sell her the lands of the Montesinos at whatever price he wants. But Rosendo replies that they are not for sale. What will be your goal?
