A nice sendoff for Quinn, tragically. Only slightly tainted by having the fascist trope as the villains. He deserved a better story.

A very sad death.. For some reason I'm comparing in my head Julie Plec killing off Vicki Donovan with Doyle's death. This one makes me more sad. Both were kind of mischievous characters.
This is a very clear and in no way subtle WWII/Holocaust allegory (the uniforms, "extermination" and "vermin", the shoes that Doyle finds in his flashback, bunker under the floorboards, etc.). But still very effective, with a heartbreaking ending.

I didn’t remember Doyle going so early. When i think back on Angel i always remember him so assumed he was in it for the whole off season 1. Guess not. Last re watch i did was 2013 after watching it in 1999. I love how i just forget most things and can enjoy rewatching :grinning:
Also had no idea the actor died. Wondered why i hadn’t seen him in anything else. Sad
