Here we go again. Pretty much an entire episode based on something or other of which is dragged out for most of the episode, and that something either, gets somewhere, or was a waste of time, only whichever one it is, happens at the very end, for the most part. And as a bonus, some kind of twist or cliffhanger can happen at the end as well, like with this episode.
This is the final season, man. Stop with this bullcrap. Do people truly enjoy this type of thing? Because, unless I'm remembering things wrong, this isn't the first time that has been done in this show, not by a long shot. If anything, I'm baffled at how they keep falling for it and don't see how ridiculous it is. Maybe it was more appropriate at the beginning of the show but certainly not now.
Oh, and I noticed that Matthew wasn't in this episode. That stuck out at me, for some reason. I mean, I guess where he was left off at was a good place to do that and have an episode that he isn't in. Still, something felt off without him. I guess that's a testament to how relevant he has become, to the show, and how he has, essentially, taken over it to where not even the main characters, the characters who've been at the forefront of the show since the beginning, can elevate this season, at least the way he can, and does.
Anyway, I hope this season starts picking up, preferably in the next episode, and I hope once it does, that it keeps on going instead of slowing back down to a snail's pace. I know, when you think about it, thirteen episodes are a decent amount but at this rate and with the way things are going, this season will be at the end before you know it. Plus, it's the final season, too. But from the way the season is looking, based on this episode, it should be picking up fairly soon, hopefully. Fingers crossed.
Take a load of this episode, everything could've been solved in 2 minutes if Tasha simply remembered a name - and the convenient writing that has each of Madeline's moves happening in Europe is a treat, so is them getting in and out of countries in the blink of an eye. Suspension of disbelief has always been a thing for this show but they are stretching it beyond the breaking point
Wasn't the best episode, but there are a few highlights, like the barking, or Rich's Gretchen Weiners-like "Death Gas 2000" phrase. It's great that we're getting another episode of Tasha's flashbacks since we haven't had one since s3 if I stand corrected, but with this being the final season and all, I'd rather prefer everything that is being alluded to in the present be of more importance - they had 4 seasons' worth of episodes to give us these cutesty newbie scenes. Sure, it ties in with the current plotline but the connection between the scientist in a past case and now feels... A little inorganic. Like a coincidence. Maybe it's 'cos we could've had hints up until this episode of her working on the gas, but didn't - so when she pops up, it's just like ???
In saying that, re: my comment on the prev. episode... The writers have always been quite sneaky. They always manage to put in all these little details form episodes into the finale, like the pieces of a whole puzzle. I've become almost hyper-aware of this. That being said, it makes me wonder why we'd had a flashback-heavy episode... So much Reade, which was kinda necessary given he, Tasha and Weller were the OG team. But I've still no idea if they just sort of bamboozled us into thinking he's dead when he somehow got out of the rubble, but we see him pass away, too... I really wouldn't put it past them to find a way, but I can't think of how... Hmm.
Isn't it so handy that all Madeline's evil plans are happening in Europe, just a stone's throw from the gang's secret bunker?
Please end this train wreck of a show...it’s pretty much gotten boring.

I dream with the day when I'll say "what an episode!", "Amazing!" "Best episode ever", etc. I hope that day will come. But that day is not today.
This is not criticism for criticism's sake. But I really want to know what the writers were thinking while creating this episode. Sometimes it feels like they've just given up. The writing is completely non-surprising, the acting is so weird it looks like the actors are giving up too. We've got two episodes on a row of people interviewing people. In an action show, that's the equivalent of watching grass grow. I get we need to "flesh out" Zapata because of ghost Reade, her being pregnant, trauma, etc, etc. But I can't stop thinking that if only Tasha had remembered the name of the person she interviewed in the past, the episode could've just been one action scene after an action scene.
When we got the flashback I stayed positive thinking we'd see Mayfair. But no. Nothing. I liked Kurt's barking, though. It was so random and long that it made me laugh.
Rich continues to be the best part of the show. Death Gas 2000. I'm using that for the next dangerous thing I see.
So, summarizing, we got an episode of Tahsa flashbacks, Jane hiding information to Kurt, Tasha being pregnant (who would've thought that), like 3 minutes of action, Jane getting shot, Kurt being kidnapped and oh yeah, the customary Blindspot bomb.
I always hate when they're all in hiding and wanted and they just go out in the field, say that they're in danger and got to go back to the bunker in different ways and they stop to have a chat. Then people get caught or worse.
Also, Weitz was missing. He's become like the best part of the show and he wasn't in the episode. Yeah, it was all about Tasha but come on, Weitz is becoming a really important part.
Again, here's to hoping that the show picks up soon. This is the last season and Blindspot has always been a show that I enjoy so please, writers, don't screw this up and give us a decent final season.
