Completely unnecessary episode. Boring as hell with nothing but fillers and flashbacks.
Moi aussi, JJ! I am not out of tears either.
A just fine ending for a show that admittedly became a chore at some point. Nothing wrong with it, but I’ve grown to judge a show by its ending, and it’s far from perfect. Needed a lot more. Inoffensive, but lacking.
I'm really going to miss this show. I wonder what the note said...
i think this was actually a pretty good ending for the series as a whole. the parties have always been a part of the vibe and honestly the minute that i saw them dancing and singing in that one scene near the end i knew it wasn't the characters but the crew celebrating. that was a group of genuinely invested actors saying goodbye to their family. there's a reason everyone got so emotional even though at the end of the day, only one character was moving onto a different career.
moreover i think maxine not making an appearance was totally fine. if she had it would have felt a bit shoehorned.
at the end of the day, criminal minds has had a really turbulent ride. it's always taken a lot of suspension of disbelief for anyone who has a background in law enforcement or the field of psychopathology, and the cast turnover has been exhausting for cast and audience alike. but it stuck around for 15 seasons despite that due to a core cast that loved their work and an audience that was passionate in an unusually positive and considerate way. a lot of times the dedicated fanbases of tv dramas can be damaging, cruel and just downright out of their minds. in the first few seasons when i was a teenager, i was in the beginnings of that fandom and it was a delightful group of people and from what i've heard over the years, they continued to be just that. i think the way this show ended was perfect. it was a little bittersweet, but the emotion was so real and god, FINALLY, ALVEZ.
*Great ending for a phenomenal show*
After 15 seasons I never tired of watching. Each episode was fresh and intriguing. I understand the people connected with the show need to move on but i'm going to miss this show. Surprised Shemar didn't make a guess appearance. Bye BAU.
What a puddle of warm shit. This ep was garbage.
Great show!!! I'm gonna miss them all but my fav is Spencer. So sweet and caring.

This ending (without knowing for real) felt like it was shot seperate from most of the season and had a strong disconnect from the previous episodes, especially with the abscence of Spencer's (still?) girlfriend. For me it had a bit too much of a clipshow vibe and the masterplan of blowing up the goddamn jet was rediculous.
It didn't end with a bang, it didn't' end with a whimper... It ended how the show was for its entire run: some good, some bad, some mediocre, some rediculous but in the end you stayed for the characters, for the "family" you were part of for 15 years.
Goodbye Criminal Minds, it was fun but life goes on.
They couldn't have ended it better. I came up with various ways this show could end, possibly with a death of a beloved character. I'm so glad they didn't. I'm so glad that they ended the show on a high. With happy 'endings' for all and bright futures ahead. To let Penelope be the one to part from the team was an excellent choice because Penelope doing the speech at the end brought all of those feelings with it because she's always been this beacon of light amidst the dark storylines they've had. She is the glue.
And all of those flashbacks, the dream state of Reid, perfect! Perfect way to remind us of all the stories and beloved characters. What a ride. I'll miss the show. It never bored me, it maintained a strong level in storytelling and it was always consistent for me personally. I like that they gave us ten episodes to wrap it up neatly. The writers, cast and crew made a solid ending. Goodbye Criminal Minds!
I could’ve done without the extended dancing and partying. The more it went on, the stupider it looked, and seemed just a time-filler.
On the whole I’ve enjoyed the series over the years, even with the changing of the cast, it’s mostly held true.
What the fuck was that.
Of all the things a finale needs, this had none of them.
Most of all, why the fuck was Derek Morgan not at Penelope’s party?!
