I like the show, but it lacks character developmenet. I just don't see why they chose an older person— I'm not trying to be offensive here— to play the new Doctor.

Really great serial!
The first season was amazing, and the Doctor had so much heart an history. The 10th Doctor is pretty good too, but 11 is just so weird, I can't take it. He doesn't care about anything, and it just kind of seems like bad character development...
I simply adore this show!

Watch the episode Blink (http://trakt.tv/show/doctor-who-2005/season/3/episode/10) if you want some reassurance that it gets better. That episode fairly independent and it wont spoil anything.
