Said it before, but it bears repeating: weaponizing old Fringe events is cool as hell. Although, I could've done without seeing the gross-as-shit squids again... (Seriously, that was hands down the worst episode of the series.) Leave it to Fringe to make use of their last opportunity to be weird.
I think I enjoyed S5 a little more this time than I did on my first viewing, but I still think it's the worst season. It ruined Observers, which is my favorite aspect of Fringe. A shame.
Overall, I like this show. But I wish it had less filler episodes, and also did not repeatedly have gross stuff. A lot of things felt like they wanted to get disgusting for the sake of being disgusting, which is not my jam. When the show focuses on the main plot, though, it really excels. It has a good plot... but there's so much that gets in the way of it.

I've just had my first run-through of Seasons 1 to 5 of Fringe. I completely fell in love with the characters, the fun, the creepiness along with the twists and turns.
Whilst I see negative remarks about the short season 5, it gave me everything I'd want for the finale. Great villains, and I love how the past elements were brought together.
Now, in the quiet of my regular evening viewing, I can't help but feel a sense of loss, almost like saying goodbye to old friends. 'Fringe' has left an indelible mark. Classic sci-fi. I'd welcome seeing a spin-off show, although perhaps it's best left as the masterpiece that it is.
On paper, the story is super cool, but the way it's told is just boring and tedious. It's OK to be chasing a plan you don't know about. But how stupid can you be? On the one hand, time is always pressing, on the other hand, you're constantly taking your time to do crap. In this episode, for example, time is pressing because Broyles has been discovered, but you have a long time to watch a video for Peter. Why? Furthermore, why does Broyles put himself in danger at all and not solve the matter like Nina and kills himself?
Also, the Observers have superior technology, can transcend space and time, everything is monitored, etc., but you make phone calls and walk the streets. How can that be? Why are Olivia and the rest so careless? And the Observers, why are they so stupid, why don't they just record all communication traffic, this total surveillance already exists in our reality, see NSA and Snowden. And if they don't, it should be explained why this is not possible in the universe of Fringe.
The creators only got 13 episodes for the last season, but it feels like they only had enough story for 6 episodes. With the final season, the creators of Fringe have finally landed on corniness. It's all about love and science and the Fringe cases are just a distant resonance. But there is one good thing about this episode, the shoot-out at the end was really well done.
Maybe, it's different when you watch the season for the first time, you don't know where it's going, but now the second time, it's annoying and tedious as hell and you want it to go on. (On the other hand, my original rating wasn't particularly good, so it must not have gone down particularly well with me then either).
First few seasons are quite good. Last one is total disaster.

Well, it doesn't even compare to the scene here in the finale where Olivia smashes Captain Baldie between two cars using her Cortexiphan abilities! Did you all see the look on his face?! So freaking amusing :rofl:
